I Lost My Reputation Now

You are not alone on this. My star went down to an red one some months back here. I have not seen it went back to blue since then.. I think I know who is responsible for it going down too. But, I am not going to worry and waste my time stressing it. My point went up an notch, but that is about all.. I would like for it to be blue again. And I hope the same for yours too. You may just have an hater whom rated you in a negative way.. Don't worry, it will go back to normal..

My star has changed colors so often I don't even care about it anymore. 10-9-10-8-7-9-8-9, it's like a freaking yo-yo! I don't think the rating system is fair anyway since one person can drop your rating overnight for no reason at all. Say one word they disagree with and they go around negging every discussion you've posted to in the last month. When I first started here on myLot I thought it meant something, I've gotten to the point I don't even look at stars anymore. I am just as likely to answer someone's discussion who is a 1 as I am if they are a 10. Cheers!

Do not be sad about this. It happened to everybody here once you up once you down. That stars do not reflect the real quality of you posts but you surly know about that. There could be just some stup1t kid who did not even know what that (-) means. If you keep trying you will get your blue back again. By the way I put (+) to your discussion, so hope you will feel better although these stars mean nothing.

i just got my star today. What is the speciality of this star. Does it indicates our quality if yes i will have to work harder

Don't worry about it. those stars don't really mean anything. I remember when they didn't have those stars.

Enjoy it while it last. I rarely ever rate negatively other mylot users. I find that ood. I had a blue star for a day or two but my reputation went down too. One of my posts might have offended someone. I don't worry too much about it. © ronaldinu 2008

I know how you feel as I was once there. It was worse, I had my blue star for only 2 weeks when it slid down to 9 and it remains there ever since which was 2 years ago. I tell they are quick to demote the star but will take ages to promote it. I don't think I will ever get a blue star again as my reputation is sliding from 93/100 to 90/100. I don't understand but it does make me feel demoralize to go on posting.

Hi, rainmark. Sorry to hear this is happening to you. Some people have nothing better to do than (-) people and I just don't understand that. For heavens sake, read a book, go for a walk leave people alone. Oh, the entoxicating power of the annonymous (-) .

I have been in same situation as you are. I have a blue star once upon a time and now I'm stuck with a red star.

I think it's a silly system, to have the mylot star ratings. I do like the fact that we have an option to rate and report discussions and responses though. I just think they should eliminate that star at the top. There are too many people who take it too seriously and get very upset when it goes down. I'm glad to see that you seem to be taking it rather lightly... as you should. :)

My star rating seems to fluctuate from week to week one minute it's down then it's up. Would love to reach a ten star reputation but guess it's not something we can really decide for ourselves...it's out of our hands so no point worrying about. Rainmark you have the right attitude. Hope you are rewarded with your blue star back soon though.

O dear. I never give a minus response to anyone, even if I have a heated argument. Well you are now back in the red hot star club like me. Well good luck you will get it back soon I am sure.

haha~~ I encountered the same yesterday too. I got a 10 blue star in the morning, then suddenly I got a red star with 9 in the evening. I have no idea what I've done wrongly too, I tried to post responses positively.

haha.. TAke it easy, we cant possibly pacify everybody in mylot ^_^ We pleased some and annoyed some, it's very normal.. Just take those ple whom rate us negatively as a very petty person.. lol =D For whatever they rate us, they wil be affected in some ways too ^_^ hehe Anyway, red is quite nice too, as it represents danger.. lol

Lol, my rating went down when I voiced my political opinion. You can't always do right by everybody. In a forum like this you are bound to eventually step on somebody's toe. If that somebody is vengeful enough, they'll take the only recourse available to them (since you physically are not available to be pummeled, lol), so they downgrade you. That and trolls who do it for pure fun are the reason why many 'oldtimers' don't care about the star rating. Sometimes you see please from people to be downrated to the point that they lose their star rating;) Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get enough pluses and what not to eventually be a 10 again. I gave you one;)

Well, this thing happen always here because we can not please all people at all times. There are times that we unknowingly said things that hurt their ego or whatever it is they felt we don't know but just forget about it. The important thing is your earnings did not go down.. just don;t pay attention with you star your blue will be given back to you in the future.That is normal here.

I haven't managed to get up to 10 yet but I am getting there. I hope you go back up to 10 soon. I don't get the whole idea why someone would give a negative rating to anyone else. But there are some pretty strange people out there.
