how do you feel when your friend request gets rejected virtually?

Umm..like in social networking sites as myspace, facebook, orkut etc. if you find a person and think yeah, he/she's cool to be friends with, let's know him/her more and send a friend request and he/she didn't accept the friendship, says anything or nothing in back and there you are; your offer of virtual friendship is in effect turned down. so, you feel what? just move on with and sending another bunch of friend requests to some other guys? deep down somewhere you don't feel yourself to be a bit worthless or frustrated or puzzled what went wrong in the process? write whatever you feel..if you get the whole idea of this discussion..

Yes. I get the whole idea of your discussion. I use Bebo. I am sure you have heard of it. I know what you mean about rejection of some people. I see people who love the same music and interests as me, so I try and add them. Then when you see its rejected and returned it makes you feel bad. I do not know why? Maybe they had a bad day or something. You would think they would be glad to have you as a friend, sharing the same things. I think people sometimes just have their own wee groups on these websites. I always add everyone that shares my interests on those sites. I have made some good friends and some are younger than me. I am like their big sister on them. Well do not worry too much, they where idiots anyway. You would not want to be friends with that. Well good discussion. Thanks. Hopefully we will meet soon on another. Take care.

thanks for replying hildas. Like you, I also try to add new people and know them more. Like you said, there are no other things to know except their profile in these sites and you can only guess that guy maybe has something in common. So, it's down to what they read or listen to or at least what they had listed as their interests for you to see and make guesses (some really educated or at least experienced guesses). I have even got fuming replies too, don't really know what went wrong. But the worst is when they say nothing. Just turn the request down and ignore. That really gets on my nerves sometimes.. Hoping to meet you soon on another.

That's the reason why I'm not inviting anyone who I don't know or familiar with. I make sure to send them a personal message telling them I want to invite them to my networking site. It's okay for me if they reject my request because I don't force people to join my site. ^^,
