Does anyone here have nights when they just can't fall asleep because they are busy thinking about some heady thoughts? I have had nights when I can't get to bed because I have been thinking about things like, what am I actually certain of or different things like the process of learning a new language.

That's exactly what I do when I'm in bed. I can't just go to sleep peacefully; thoughts keep popping into my head about what happened during the day, what I'm going to do tomorrow, stuff like that. It takes some time for my head to go to rest and for me to fall asleep.
But this doesn't really affect me, I am still able to wake up on time anyway.

I have a hard time EVERYNIGHT getting to sleep. Even if Im so tired I can't think straight. Mostly, I am thinking about a lot of things all at once. But sometimes, Im not really sure what the problem is. And, after I go to sleep finally, its very, extremely hard for me to stay asleep.

I have had many of those sleepless nights. It was so bad that I had to get a prescription for sleeping pills. I don't take them every night, but it does help. I'm always thinking about the things that has to be done the next day or next week or what I have to do at work.

Sometimes this happens to me. The trick is to do something that will take the concentration off your thoughts so your head will be cleared when you go back to bed. It would help to watch TV or read a book. Anything that takes your mind somewhere else.
