As my friends told, the type & quantiy of any fruit depends up on the sugar level (type -I/II). Instaed of fruit juice, raw frouts may help the metabolisam rate. However, Banana. riped mango & pinaples may not better for a sugar patient. However, generally the seasonal fruits may have the anti-oxidents which may help the pancreases for insulin. instaed of processed sugars/ sweets & jams, these seasonal fruits may help. so go ahead.

Great question with a simple answer...all fruits (dried, fresh, canned or frozen) are safe for anyone with diabetes. BUT just like anything else too much of a good thing is a bad thing. Now here is where the answer isn't so simple, if you are a type 2 diabetic your doctor may want to restrict your calorie or crab intake, if you are a type 1 diabetic are you on the pump or on insulin shots a couple time a day? Your or diabetes educator is always a great resource to tailor your diet with your needs. I hope this helps.

You should consult the Glycemic Index and speak with your doctor about this. The Glycemic Index measures both the sugar of foods and how they are processed by the body. You would want to avoid food items with a high glycemic index and try to eat foods with a low to moderate glycemic index if you are worried about increasing your sugar level. I am including a link below to an abbreviated glycemic index. You can try to find a more detailed one if you want more information. Strawberries, grapefruit, pears, plums, and cherries are all fruits that have a low glycemic index, so they would be optimal for you to include in your diet. Apples, grapes, oranges, and peaches are also low to moderate on the index. You would definitely want to stay away from pineapple, which has a pretty high index, as well as raisins, bananas, and mangoes.
