Have YOU ever reprimanded your boss?

Recently, I was off for three days on a mini vacation. I go back to work and my boss did a real bonehead thing. First, I emailed him about it because I didn't want to let him hear the agitation in my voice. He emaled me back with a question, so then I called him. He was eating humble pie bigtime.
You see, he threw out the second phone I had in the office. The one I use to make outgoing calls to customers. It was connected to my old fax machine and on the floor, out of sight to anyone. He found it and threw it out thinking...or not...that it was not being used. I gave him 3 good reasons why I needed that phone. He said he would come out and get in my garbage dumpster to retrieve it. While I would have liked nothing more than to see him climb into the dumpster, someone else with really long arms was able to retrieve it for me. My boss lucked out!
Have you ever called out your boss for some bonehead thing that he did?

Reprimanded? No that's too harsh of a word. I have pointed out a better way that I do it than she does.

Reprimand was the right word when it came to my situation. It was not about a better way of doing something, it was making rash decisions when I wasn't at work that effected the running of my office! He threw out things that he didn't think I needed. I won't even get into his micro-managing! That is a whole other discussion topic.

How does that saying go? When the cat is away the mice will play.

I have not had to do that yet!
Mostly I proofread and do that well, but only let the boss know if they ask me!
I have had things thrown out that I wanted, or needed.
It is good when people ask first before throwing stuff out, but you know how it is.
