Tomorrow is a big day for me and my twin.

Tomorrow is my twin's and mine birthday. We will be turning 50 years old. What does turning 50 mean to me? It means I am have a century old, I am officially an old woman. My older sister who is 51 says now I will be able to burp and fart in public and not be embarrassed about it.LOL I will becoming a Granny in February for the fist time. I am so excited. I am more secure with myself then I ever have been before. I asked my husband last night, when he remembered that tomorrow is my birthday, if he could stand to live with a 50 year old woman? He said it does not matter to him because he is over 50. I asked him if he was going to trade me in for a younger model and he said "No I could not keep up the a younger model." My hubby and I have been married for 31 years. The best part of this 50th birthday is my sisters and I will be together. Yayayayaya We do not have any formal plans except to a memorial for our beloved Granny who died in September. We have been together more this last year then ever before since we moved out of our home we where raised in. We have not been together for one's birthday. My twin sister will always be 10 minutes older than I am. I do not think of her as an older sister I think of her as my equal and same age. I am very proud to say I have a twin and we share the same birthday. I have been cleaning my house for my sisters arrival. I have totally been cleaning out cupboards and other nooks and crannies. It is something I have been wanting to do for a long time but not had the motivation to do so. What do you do special on your birthday Does it bother you to age or hit a mile stone birthday? My older sister did not handle 50 well. I am proud to be 50.

Congratulations on you and your sister's 50th birthday! Now that I am 51 I look back on turning 50 and laugh at the way I whined about it. I don't feel old. My body tends to feel a bit different than it did 25 years ago. The aches and pains are there, the silver shimmers of light in my hair, the laugh lines and crows feet and I believe an age spot or two! But, all in all, I am fine with my age. I am not an old lady by any sense of the word. Aging is fine, growing old is not something that I intend to do. Best wishes to you and your sister too.

Thanks for the b-day wishes. Yes I do have the aches and pains especially when I over do it, like now with 6 house guests. I am having so much fun but I will have to sleep a week to get over it when they leave. heehee I find I do spend less time in bed because of back pain. It is 4:30am and I have been awake and up since 3am. I will have another full day. I do know if I can sit for 15-20 minutes and snooze and do the head bob thing and some times do the mouth opened thing I can go another round for several hours. heehee. It does not work if I sit so the head does not do the bobbing when I snooze.

My company finally all left. I did not want my older sister and her husband to leave. I sure have had such a great time with them. It was good to have her to grieve with. We went back to the cemetery yesterday to take photos. It is so beautiful there. I will be going again when they get Granny's ashes buried and grave marker placed.

Hi teapot....I'm getting to this kind a late but wising you and your twin sister a wonderful and happy birthday. Hey, 50 ain't old...I consider old when one is in their 90s..I'm going to have my birthday on Nov 19th and I'll be 53, so only a few years older than you. I go all out for my birthday, like buying a birthday card and balloon for myself...a tradition I started some years ago. I also love making my favorite Beouf Bourgninon dinner served on couscous. I see celebrating birthdays as the one real true blue "me" day

Oh, you are so not offically an old woman! Today's 50 is yesterday's 40!!! And besides, I'm not too awfully far behind you and I have no intention of being an old woman when I'm 50, so you can't be one now :) Birthdays don't really bother me... My father always said it was great to have birthdays, it was better than the alternative. One birthday did bother me, and that was when my "baby" brother turned 30. I mean it devestated me that my "BABY" brother was 30 years old! He'll be 40 in 2 years, so I hope I handle that one better! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

First of all, happy birthday to you and your twin.Well,I guess I will have to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend because he has been gone for sometime because his parents would do anything to keep us apart but hopefully,he'll return before December.I hope .Anyway,I don't mind aging a bit because for me,age is just a number.I don't look like my actual age which is 21.I still look the same as when I was a teenager.I guess the best part of getting old is when you live your life with love as your principle.

I slammed passed 50 almost 5 years ago. I don't feel "old" most of the time. I tell people that kids make you old. If you don't have kids, then you can still think "young."

Oh Happy Birthday! You are now a golden girl and your twin as well. I am happy for you! I'm happy you are carrying yourself so well despite the old age which normally many women dread. I could see you are a very secured person. I am 52 and have been sharing a happy marriage for 23 years with a wonderful man. When I entered the golden year I never had any regretas well. Each year added to my life is a blessing that I should thank God for! Everyone will reach old age...all of us will fade...it's a natural thing so instead of dreading, we might as well enjoy and savor the goodness of God through all those years. It's okay to grow old for as long as we remain young at heart. And that we could achieve by maintaining a happy disposition despite the difficulties of life.

Hey tea! Happy 50th Birthday to you and your twin! I have passed that milestone 6 years ago so I don't quite remember, but I don't think I was too happy about it! I believe I was quite upset! I'm glad that you are happy and okay with it! Maybe because you are married and settled and have children so it doesn't bother you. But, being that I am single with no children and hit 50 it was rather depressing. But, what can you do? I just turned 56 and I really am upset! There is nothing you can do about getting older. My Mom is going to be 78 so I am just happy that I have her around still. So I shouldn't complain. So you enjoy your bithday with your sisters and have a wonderful time!

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I am looking forward to seeing my twin she is not here yet. I am so sorry you do not have a special someone to spend your birthday's with. I think you are right being secured in my relationship does play a big role in how I feel about age.

First, happy birthday to you! Well,in the past,I would have noodle with my friends or my family on my birthday. Noodle means longevity,so having noodle on one's birthday is a tradition.Alough I can't completely accept it,and I think birthday is sign and not different from any day, but I will still continue this manner and this tradition. Enjoy with my freisnds and my family, which may be one may to see and talk with them. Age?! Everyone will get older and older. That is the truth. So,living better and better(including matter and spirit) is what should to do,which can beat age. Now, I will be turning to 26,that means I am not young.I will not look forward to birthday like children,or afraid of being older, beacuse there are many things for me to do,that is what I should to on that age.

Hi teapotmom, I want to wish you a very happy birthday tomorrow (and to your twin too), and many happy returns of the day. Fifty is really special, and I can remember mine, as I'm fifty seven. My family and friends had a lovely dinner at a restaurant for me, that day. It's great to see that you have such a positive attitude about this milestone. Each year is a precious gift, and we should be thankful for them all. Enjoy your celebration with your family. By the way, I've put something on your comment page, so don't want you to miss it. After all, it's a wonderful occasion.
