is bible a Holy book???????

for a man who read bible for once can understand tht it is a silly childrens story which says a story just like the aesop,s fable but cant be say it is like aesops fable cause its a story containing so much things which can not be accept in the society.in bible it says tht adam and awe had a son and he married to his girl and they had another son and so on but for the right moment there were only adam awe and his son,so it means tht he married his mother?is it right to society or to any human being to marry his own mother????and other thing i never understood tht did god hate humans tht he said not to eat the fruit giving wisdom???????????

Is the bible just another book which made the best seller list for all time? Think about it. Yes the overall theme is good, you worship one god and do unto others as you would have done to you. But, others have written "holy books" about there God and what the faithful should and should not do. Why not one of those books? Why is the bible the one that is the most accepted. Is it possible that the bible is the one book written which supports a huge political power? What would have happen if the Roman catholic church would not have grown as it did? Perhaps we would be worse off, but maybe not. I believe everyone has the right to worship as they please, and that no matter which religion you are there is only one God that everyone ultimately worship unknowingly. I seek the path to my own enlightenment and believe others should make the most appropriate choice for themselves. What is the most important is that you have a higher power to give you guidance. What say you?

yes there is a supreme power but our thoughts hav borders which was made by him,just think that we are all the impulses in a brain of a person who is our god,he merely makes us to play our roles and he wish us to think,but he gave us limitations just like we all not exactly know who we are.and bible become holy book because of the christians invasion in the world,hav u heard abt the christion mission of converting others to christyians tht is still in progress named penta coastal mission,which is a mission to convert to christians the persons residing in 5 coastal countries,but there were so many powerful religions in this world tht were washed off by these christians.

The Bible is a best seller because a lot of copies of the Bible are printed and purchased for conversion activities, not because it says the TRUTH. As the starter of this thread aptly pointed out, the Bible is just a collection of legends copied from the flourishing civilizations of the time.

I never thought about it too much, but ever christian I know has tried to convert me. I think that they have every right to believe what is in the bible, but should not pressure those that don't. I can't tell you how many times I have been told that I'm wrong or am going to hell because of religion.

i aint start it as a discussion cause it was a 2 year back and i really was a hindu.a hindu willnot make a fight in religious matters as u know "ekam sad vipra bahudha bhavanthi" but i posted it as a comment to that discuss because i really wanna say it to any one which i found in bible while reading it

Well, obviously the Bible is a mere collection of stories. The historicity of Biblical characters has not yet been proved, not even the character of Jesus. However, many people have found solace and solutions to their problems within the pages of the Bible. I guess people are free to take the Bible the way they want to. They can take it as the TRUTH. Personally, I feel that the Bible is just a fable or a legend that has no truth in it.

the Bible is THE Holy book. I just wish that more people would realize that. I don't think there is much time left for them to come to this realization though.
