Won't it be nice to have another moon?

Oh no because some things are unique and valuable...like the moon,sun,Bala,me,etc......If there are more of us,the world and life in general will be one big mess..... And on a more serious note, I believe having two moons will lead to some geographical problems,because the moon is responsible for creating high tide and low tide in the sea and also the eclpses...So it wont be practical to accomodate a second moon in the sky......

Hi Balaji, Human beings are not satisfied with anything. So why we spare 'Moon'.(lol). Do you like very much the 'Moon'. May be that is why come out of this idea. Anyway your idea is very good.

It would be nice Bala. But which moon to associate with Love and romance ? And would not the night be a little too bright with all that moonlight ?

hehe i think it is nice to have only one moon... there is only after all, one great moon... and one sun for this earth.

This is a very interesting post to me. Where did you come up with this idea? I know that there are more than one moon on other planets, but I never considered what it would be like to have two. I think that one is plenty.

i don't think so because if i remembered it correctly, back in elementary school our teachers taught us that the moon has some sort of effect on tides. if there will be two moons, there might be some unfitting effects as to our highs and lows (tide)

We do have two moons already my friend, but only when you are by the ocean and you can see a beautiful mirrored reflection of it! But yes it would be great to have two moons because then it wouldn't make everywhere so dark! It would be a little safer at night both on the roads and making the neighbourhood safer, so many nefarious people rely on the dark to commit crimes etc, so with an extra moon that means extra light! What about two suns? We need the sun more than the moon and if we lose our sun, we lose the earth! So a back up would be most appropriate! Although wolfs do need the moon especially!

No bala. i am happy with our ONE AND ONLY MOON. do ypu have any idea as to what confusion poets, lovers and astronomers and astrologers would have! i dare not think about it! i am happy with the one moon even with all its kalank!

Scientifically you know that we do have few moons (satellites)revolving around our earth....so catch hold of one quickly....

I guess you are right. In the dark sky amidst so many stars, it does look lonely. Having another moon would mean a partner for our moon. It looks so beautiful even when its alone. Imagine how stunning both the moons would look in each others company.

nope? thaen fight will start that which moon is better and other thing will they be appearing on same days/times we dont want to have THAT BRIGHT night anyway

I don't know, the people who go crazy when the full moon comes are going to have a blast with that one. Plus, what about the tide? I think we'd have a lot of tsunamis. It would be pretty, but I'm not sure what else.

i feel the moon coming closer to earth would be more interesting than two moons.. imagine a moon just at the height of 100m from earth.. doesn't it interesting?

Yes. that would be nice. It may help to light the earth up better at night time also.

That will be a sight to behold... but then... those living near the beach... or low lying areas will have trouble during high tide... since there are two moons... so the tide will be twice as high... and a lot of houses might get flooded... I wonder how the two moons affect Mars?...

I DON'T THINK IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE ANOTHER MOON. fIRST, WE ARE USED TO JUST ONE MOON IN THE SKY AND HAVING ANOTHER MOON WOULD BE LIKE WEIRD. SECOND, IT WOULD NOT HAVE ANY VALUE ADDED PURPOSE TO HAVE TWO MOONS BECAUSE ONE MOON WOULD BE SUFFICIENT TO PROVIDE THE LIGHT THAT IS APPROPRIATE FOR NIGHTTIME AND IF THERE WERE TWO MOONS THEN IT WOULD BE VERY BRIGHT AND SO THERE WOULD BE NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NIGHT AND DAY AND LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST, IT WOULD NOT BE AS ROMANTIC IF THERE WERE TWO MOONS HANGING IN THE HEAVENS AT NIGHT. Yes,maybe we will in the future.But one moon is enough for us. Don't you think so?

I don't really know if we need another moon. Then it will just cross out how special the moon we have right now.
