The daily express reported back in September that in East Staffordshire UK, residents would face a hefty fine, of £100 ($183 USD) if their bin was still on the street the day after it had been emptied. If not paid in 14 days it's a whopping £5,000, about 9000 American dollars. WHAT??? Their reason.... "Town hall bosses say left-out bins present a danger to pedestrians, especially those with impaired vision or disabilities." These officials received a "Bonehead of the Day" Award. I concur fully, what a bunch of boneheads to say the least!!! See the award here http://bonehead.oddballs.com/NotFine.html You can read the Daily Express article here http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/62131/-5-000-fine-if-you-leave-a-wheelie-bin-out-too-long Boneheads??? Criminals maybe??? What do say?

Wow, that is insane and crazy. Even a $100 fine is too much for that but $9000 is way too much. How much is the fine if not paid in a month? Year?

That fine seems excessive. But yes we do have a garbage fine if we get it out a lot of hours before collection time. © ronaldinu 2008

That stinks. They add our pick up fee to our taxes, and they don't fine us. It used to be a fine if you didn't pay your bill and that's part of the reason they added to the tax bill.

Hmm... so the authorities are saying that on garbage day, no visually impaired people walk the streets? Or that the bins do not post as an obstacle on garbage day? Hmm... I wonder who is the hared brain brainac who came up with this ruling. And who is the pea brained fella who approved it. Just for leaving the bins out in the open you get fined five thousand pounds? You don't even get that kind of fine if you parked your car in the middle of the road to cause a massive traffic jam! You are so right, the bonebead awards should go to them. I wonder, after getting it, they will be proud of themselves or not.
