Friday is always busy at work for me. I have to ge the cheques co signed for salaries and payment etc. then the bank is alwys full of people and the traffic on the road is horrible. I was really tense this morning as I was driving from work to the bank and then I had a thought. I told myself how stupid I was not to enjoy what is around me and take pleasure in my driving. O.K. the traffic was slow but this gave me time to pray. After all, the sun was shining and the temp wa about 8o degrees. On my right was the opcean and the colours waere maginifcent - all different shades of turquoises and blues. Then people were smiling and waving to me. I berated myself for not enjoying the moment with all its pleasures and blessings. This IS life. It is not a rehearsal. This day won't come back to us when it has gone. What will you do today to enjoy 'the moment'?

forgetting the smell means: you forgot the significance of it or you might have gotten tired of receiving it. makes sense?

I'm really just doing nothing all day and I need something like that. I haven't been stressed out since last Friday because that was the last time I had school, and I just don't have anything to deal with right now. I really need excitement right now!

Sometimes, we need a 'nothing' day; I know I do. I just read and watch tv and sometimes make lists of tasks to do that I have no intention of doing that day. It is like our body is telling s something - just to slow down.I'd be interested on knowing what you like to do that is exciting?

I have been doing everything I can to enjoy the moment. Right now while I am typing this I am listening to a song my friend wrote via myspace. He is such a good singer. I should call him LOl. On my way into work yesterday I prayed to God thanking him for giving me the opportunity to earn a few extra hours. I had the day off and at noon my boss called me in. The little things like that I thank God for as well as the bigger things.

How wonderful that you rejoiced for working for a few hours longer! I think that we should remind ourselves and others that life is a gift and we are to rejoice. This evening I have about 4 loads of washing to do but I've decided to put in one load only, feed my grandtwins something quick for supper and spend the rest of the time playing with them until bed time. They go to their other grandmother most weeekends and I then miss them so much. So I won;t clear the washing. I can put in another load bbefore I go to work tomorrow and clear all the wasj=hing Saturday evening. So paying and singing with my grandtwins is my joyful priority tonight. Thank you for your respinse. How long havre you been enjoying the momnet?

I think it is really important to enjoy "the moment" but I tend to forget it. Friday is my busy day at work and my thoughts often become very negative. I work at night and sometimes I forget to notice how beautiful the stars are and how wonderful the silence is. There are hardly any cars at that time of the night and that is really nice. Yes, Friday night there are lots of work to be done, but after all I am lucky to have a job. I am busy and I am blessed. Thanks for the reminder, I'll keep those things in mind next Friday. And the rest of this Friday I will concentrate on enjoying "the moment" :-)

Hi Porcospino, Perhaps we could begin a new movement called ENJOY THE MOMENT. where I live the stars are huge and the silence is so silent that I can hear the sound of the grasshoppers and little frogs that we call whistling toads.I am also lucky to be working as I should be retired and I also give thanks for this. so my dear, enjoy the stars and the quiet and I hope that the quiet will scalm and still you and that you feel happy and blessed. enjoy the moment!

I think it is great that you have found the time to make the best of any and every situation. Lately, I have been applying that concept to every situation I am faced with despite its significance. Today, I will smile at everyone at work, I will tell the people I care about how much they mean to me, and I will drink and be merry, because I realize that "every day is the first day of the rest of your life"

Yu are so right! This is the first day of the rest of our life. I hadn;t heard that expression before but it is so true. Let us all count our blessings each day and give thanks. Even if things aren't going so well then perhaps our family is healthy so give thnaks.I am sure that we will be calmer and more positive people if we approach life just a little differently. smiling at people is a good thing to do as most people will smile right back! I ;love your attitude. Keep smiling!
