Why do so many people hate President Bush?

I feel very bad for him. I like him...a lot. People blame him for the wars but if you remember 9/11, on that very day there are people who would have gladly gone to war to protect our country. If you think about all mistakes that have been made, so many people blame everything on him. It is like one man makes all discussions and choices. Intelligent people know that is now how it is. Those of you who think Obama, your very own demi-god, will pass with flying colors, you have so much coming to you. Oh, I know. You will blame everything that goes wrong during Obama's time as President of the USA, who else? Bush. You will say that he messed things up to no return. Well, just remember this. Obama made promises. He said he was the one who could do it. Don't forget that. Hold him to it. I know I will.

I don't think people necessarily hate Busch, they are just tired of him and ready to see him go. You are right about 9/11, what other presient has had to face such an ordeal. Don,t foget about katrina when has anything like that happened where it effected so many peope. How can you hold Bush totally responsible for a natural disaster of such enormous distruction. In a lot of ways he is the victom of circumstance, having said that, he has also made some mistakes. But what it boils down to are his choices for key personnel in the administration. There were some good ones but some of the people in the most powerful and high profie spots were terrible or at least they came off that way. Look at Chaney and Rumsfeld, when they are on TV giving an interview or making a speach it makes my skin crawl just to watch them. They may not be bad people if you know them personnaly but their public image is kreepy which is a big part of bush's probem. I have alway swondered if these peope were some how forced on him or if he really did not plan ahead for his team, just kind of took suggestions at the last minute. Another mistake he made was not filing a lot of positions such as US attorneys and judgeshi aroun the county for a ong time. He let a lot of things pass him by that would have made him a lot more effective. If he had gotten Osama Bin Ladin he would be leaving office more of a hero than a zero.

I have seen a lot of hatred thrown in his direction. We will see if Obama becomes a hero.

I think many people are angry that he was not able to work with his own administration and the congress better to get more done. On the other hand there are many who forget that the President does not work alone - he has to have congress' approval to accomplish anything. And yes, I agree that many people have forgotten 9/11 and the feelings it generated in all of us. So they blame him for being at war and it taking so long. Typically when things are going well here, we love the president, if they are going badly - we hate them! Sad but true.
I agree that we all need to hold Obama to his word, and keep an eye on him during his term. If we all started paying more attention to what happens after the elections, maybe the politicians will have to start following through with what they say during the campaign season.

Our national security took a nosedive during Clinton's run in the White House. 9/11 might never had happened if he hadn't been so lax with the country's security. He and the people giving him advice made a whole mess of everything. But because the economy was supposedly so good people overlooked it. And then we paid the cost. As did Bush for being the right man at a very bad time.

I could not agree more....you have great insight, and I wish others did. He will be leaving office soon. I would be nice for people to show him some respect.

The president gets blamed for everything fair or not. Personally I think COngress is to blame. THey were not pro-active in dealing with any of our big issues. THey spent all their time fighting, back biting and finger pointing. That allowed our problems to get worse and Bush took the fall. I wonder if that was a stragy of the dems on congress. DOn't solve the problems, let htem get worse, let Bush take the fall so we have a better chance of winning more seats and white house. IF so it worked.

Absolutely, and it will be interesting to see what they do with Obama in...they will probably be on their best behavior. Our world gets more wicked every day.
