Obama said:
"This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. This is our time – to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth – that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can’t, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:
Yes We Can."
Do you agree that this is our time?
Are you excited to make a difference in this country?

Well to answer your question yes. What many people fail to realize is that in older time and also some religious group of this era believe that working together brings great things. Say like the Amish they work together and put a barn up in a few days, why because that is what the Bible teaches them. It's awfully funny that the Republicans have such a hard time of working together when they are the christian party. Let us force our religious beliefs onto you but, only the ones we like. The Republican party has become a "me" party. I along with many of my Liberal friends have no problem working together to better this nation. We worked together to get Obama elected, millions of volunteers worked every day going door to door to get the word out, did you see McCain volunteers in your neighborhood? I didn't. Guess it does great things to work together!

A lot of people do volunteer work and give to charities and do so freely - the problem comes when it becomes law and the government mandates that they give - and they have no way in where it goes.

I completely agree that the republican party has become a me party... gone are the days when people are asked to volunteer to help support our military by working in factories... and why? because the republicans are paying their friends at haliburton big bucks to do the same job.

Put down the Obama kool-aid and answer this question, how are you going to do it?
Let me guess every time you came into the presence of the Lord Obama you burst into a never ending chant of YES WE CAN, YES WE CAN, YES WE CAN. Well good job you got what you wanted, and no Obama will not make a difference in America.

Nope... but I really do care about the environment and alternative energy. We have already invested quite a bit of money into this cause. I think its an important contribution to make to future generations.
I'd also be willing to pay more taxes and do what ever it takes to offer health care to everyone.
You are right that I've already made a step towards changing this country by voting for the candidate who best represented my views, and I only hope that this speech inspires others to be an active person in their community, country, and world.

Many people will say they don't mind paying taxes - until it comes time for the current Administration to raise their taxes!

Excuse me gewcew but I believe it's time to leave the bitterness and hopelessness at the door. The people who want...and voted for...change aren't kool-aid drinkers. We're tired of the same old, same old which, in case you haven't noticed is not working out too well. I predict that you will one day eat those words.

I think it's interesting that the slogan was "Yes We Can" but his insinuation was, "But only if you elect me president".

Yes, I do agree glords..and I haven't drank kool-aid in any form in years. The GOP pushed the same line it's been pushing for years...the strategy that got us to where we are today...and John McCain went along for the ride. This campaign inspired so many people, especially young people, who I believe will help to make a difference in this country.

I don't understand why some people criticize such message. What is wrong with "Yes We Can"? Would they rather we say "No We Can't"? I am not foolish enough to believe that Obama will solve everything in his first few years in the office but I believe that he is the man for the job right now who will lead us.

so here are some solutions:
a.) Outlawing corporations operating in the overseas especially in the "Third World Countries" where there is no substantial domestic market to cater the product.
Which means lesser factories in countries which cannot absorbed what it produces. like it Jobs in India and the philippines
b.) Bailing out the banking system
Giving aid to banking system which is in debt. Futhermore, if the Obama presidency would not criminalize the looters like some corrupt CEO's, (which I think could be one of thsoe biggest contributors in his campaign fund), he cannot cleanup the financial institution in this country which has been for many years plagued by the corrupt financial players.
c.) Revitalizing the Soldiers in Iraq
If there is one thing Mr. Obama would be his greatest undoing, that would be pulling out troops from Iraq. With a huge oil deposit in the land, would America afford to just lose their investment? Obviously the ROI in waging war in Iraq is just starting to realize. WIth oil prices rising, probably, America will play some role in oil industry. Why not making Iraq as the 51st non continental state?
d.) Lastly, American boycott on some Free Trade Bodies
THis will include NAFTA and WTO. For most past, this has been the reason why America is plagued by the Economic Crunch. Few jobs, goods are freely circulating which are manufactured with cheap labor, and lastly, the influx of China goods. in this way, America can dictate its own terms if it wants to open its market to the world. Which means creating a biased advantage to American interest.

In answer to B, he already named a former member of the Board of Directors of Fannie Mae as his Chief of Staff, so how interested do you really think he is in fixing that problem?

Hi glords! Yes I am hoping that we can put this country back
together! But, I know that it is going to take some time and
that we are going to have to have alot of patience because
there is alot of things that have been done that are going
to have to be undone. President-elect Obama has his work cut
out for him and he is aware of this. It will not happen for
a long time. We as Americans have to stand behind our new
President and hope for the best and believe that good things
can happen if we want them to.
