I hate it when people let their mobile phones ring during the movie, it distracts people. They should switch it to silent mode. I also hate it when they keep on sending SMS even though their phone is in silent mode, the light of their mobiles still distract people. What about you, what do you hate the most when you watch in theaters?

I guess im lucky because when i go to watch a movie the lights of the cellphones dont really bother me. What was funny was that one time i went with my friend and everything went quiet. Suddenly we heard a large fart sound. IT WAS REAL! it was so funny

The one thing that i hate the most is obnoxious people that always want to talk very loud and even shout sometime
to the screen. And it's not like they do it for a few seconds. They do it for mostly evwery scene. Sometimes i feel like standing up and just telling that person
to please shut thehell up. But then I would be distracting everybody else from watching the movie
and then ill be drawn into the obnoxious category.

I don't mind if people sending SMS while their mobile is silent but recently there was something which had happened in the cinema while I was watching movie with my family. I never thought this kind of behavior still occur in our society, observing from our general style of life which is intelligent and modern and know about politeness and all.
The movie we were watching is a ghost story. At the back seat, there were 3 women which I suspected to be housewives aged around mid 30's. Whenever a scary scene appeared, they would roar in laughter. What? Everyone was angry with their attitude, especially us because they were sitting right behind our seatings.
My brother couldn't suppress her anger and told them to shut up. But they didn't care and kept laughing as if it were a comedy movie. If I could, I think I would smash their heads so that they would not be able to disturb us again.
The laughter continued until the end of the show and it was the nightmare that I will never forget.

They must have been having a great time at your expense. Sometimes they forget that the ticket they paid for was just for their seat not for the entire theater. I try to go to theaters where the crowd is more mature or at least with manners. Sometimes, it also depends on the place where we watch.

I have a similar story to this one. It happend a few years back...a friend and I went to see Ang Lee's "Brokeback Mountain". Now this particular film was extremely controversial due to it's A-List actors and it's homosexual content, so you know it received a bunch of media coverage even before it was released. There's no way you could have NOT known exactly what this movie was about.
Okay, now with that having been said, I would greatly appreciate it if someone would explain to my WHY people acted as if they were shocked by what they saw! As soon as Heath and Jake would even think about kissing each other or holding hands or whatever, these people would just lose their shyt. I mean, I've never heard so many "Oh, my God", "That's so gross/disgusting", "I can't believe they would...", and, oh yeah, my personal favorite, "Ewwww"'s in my entire 24 years on this earth! And these weren't children, people...these were fully-grown, money-making, booze-buying, hunting license-having voters. Saying "EWWWW"!
OMG, it was so pathetic, and so annoying. And so extremely transparent. Like I said before, there was absolutely no way those people didn't know what they were getting themselves into. Well, there was that one scene that was kinda...but, whatever. No matter how "disgusted" they were, they had to have been intrigued by the story or life-style for them to go and spend their hard earned money to see it. I just don't understand what compelled these ADULTS to act like such CHILDREN.

Yes I don't like when people have on phones, or when there are tall people and a ton of open seats and they sit right in front of me and don't scoot down in the seat and I have to either move or keep trying to look around them. Or people that talk during the movie, It's like come on your at a theater if you wanted to chat you should stay home!

I know! And sometimes you would think after one ringing they would put it in silent mode but they do not! The phone rings again and then it rings again! AGh! Worst is when they answer it too!

I hate having to go to the bathroom really bad during the climax of the movie and either holding it or running and missing out on the movie. :(

Me and my fiance do not go to movie theater very often because movies are starting to get very expensive, and we have more important things to worry about and save for then the movie theater, especially since right now we are in the middle of saving for our wedding, which is set for September of next year, and I can not wait until I can call her my wife, and she can call me her husband, but we will go to the movie theater is there is something playing that we really want to see,and the last movie we went to see was Indiana Jones 4,which was a really good movie, and it was more than worth the price to see it,and I would have gladly payed the price to see the movie again because it was that good, and when I was younger me and my parents used to go the movies several times a year, and me and my friends would go to the movies every once in a while, and I know what you mean about people who let their cell phone ring which is really annoying, and I always made sure my cell phone was on vibrate if I did not turn it off,and another thing that was always annoying was when people would let their kids make constant noise, without telling them to quiet down,or people who would let their kids kick other peoples chairs, because I had that happen to me once, and it kind of pissed me off,but I did not say anything,I also can not stand people who wear big hats in the theater or anything else that can block others view of the screen.

Oh yeah, that is terrible, kids kicking your chairs. I also do not know how to make them stop. I do not want to sush them because they might cry and that will be the end of my movie! Good luck on your wedding plans! I am so touched by your excitement to marry the your fiance!

Besides the inconsiderate ringing of handphones, the next thing that irritates me most are the 'screamers'.
These usually happen during horror or suspense movies. Here we are, waiting for that eerie or suspenseful moment, and even before the killer/evil/whatever appears, the bl**dy idiots started screaming, and startled most of us. It takes away our concentration for that moment! I really detest these morons - one of the main reasons I prefer to watch movies at home!

I hate people with cell phones, too! And people who keep talking! And kids who run free! ALL of these things should just NOT be happening, and yet they always do!

I hate it when people are talking loudly because I can't concentrate on the movie I'm watching. I wanted to kill them (not literally though) because we are in the cinema not to chit chat but to enjoy our moment in seeing our favorite movie. I also don't like people using their cellphones and it has a very loud ringing tone. I want to kick him out! ^^,

Of course you can do this. If you are not lucky though, you might just end up having to make them keep quiet only for them to make even more noise!

I hate people talking to each other while watching the movie. If they are not interested, they should leave the premises. They should think of others. Using mobile phones is another disturbance.

I hate it most when people talk out loud to the movie. They get really excited and say "don't go in there!" or "are you serious?" that kind of thing just really bothers me. I wish people would realize that this isn't their living room. Other people payed 8 dollars to go see this movie and have a good time too. but that's just my opinion.
