I have noticed this for a long time. If the discussion is small and easy then more people reply. And if the discussion is a bit long then people dont even care to read it. Time is money here my friends. No one likes to spend 10 minutes on one discussion.

Since the money is simply a bonus for spending all my spare time doing something I enjoy, I'm quite happy to make long discussions. Those people who can't be bothered to read them would be unlikely to have much worthwhile to add to them, so who cares? And since I average over 40c per day doing long discussions, I gues it can't be too silly doing it. Lash

I have also noticed that. Not only small and easy, light discussions also attract most of myLotters.I started some serious topics, but got no reply. So I left this practice. Now I'm not ready to loss my time. I have decided to go with the favourable current.Atlast I got a pretty lady who feels like me.

Maybe. I think it depends on how short you mean. You need at least a paragraph to give people something to respond to. Mind you there are some people who just read the title and never bother with the content which can be a problem if the title is a teaser or a joke and then they miss the point. My discussions are usually at least 2 paragraphs and I find that if it is a simple easy to respond to topic then I get lots of responses. If it is complicated and requires a lot of thought then I do not get so many. But then it depends on your friends seeing it and responding.

That's not true in my case. All of my discussions are lengthy but I still get at least 10-30 replies, that's lot for me. It depends upon the topic you actually started if interesting enough for your users to read. Keeping constant exposure to my discussion is a good way of attracting people to responding to it.

In my case, I reply to the discussion because it interests me and I do believe that I can contribute to the discussion. My other preferences is that I reply to the discussion of my closest friend whom I thought that responded to my discussion more often. Happy mylotting.

I think if you start a discussion which will interest people you will get more responses, but whats important i think is the paragraphing of your discussion If you write 3 lines and paragraph it, then nobody will be bored to read it, even if you have a long long discussion no one will be bored if the paragraphs are short But if you write a long one paragraph you will realise that people will only read the heading and response to your discussion and one thing for sure is that they will not get the point and they will endup responding with responses not related to what you are talking about.

I've noticed this as well .I tend to read discussions that fit all in my screen so i dont have to scroll down to read the whole thing. On occasion when im bored or its slow at work i respond to the longer ones but otherwise i dont have time to sit and read them when they are that lengthy.
