Bathing Rabbits

There must be a reason that rabbits are normally self groomers... and I think it's the same reason as with cats! That they hate baths (okay, I'm sure they had no idea a human would bathe them if they got dirty, but still).
One of my rabbits has a UTI right now, and to prevent her from getting urine scald I tried to give her a bath tonight. The operative word there was tried. I made the mistake of using the tub instead of a sink and I was afraid she would kill herself jumping all over the place in there and took her out. It still helped a bit though. I only put in a small amount of water, just enough to get her underside wet and soapy.
Now she is glaring at me and wondering what got into my head earlier. Tomorrow she gets to go to the vet for some antibiotics.

Not all rabbits hate baths, I've had 10 rabbits and some, like you're have absolutely hated it but some, including the one I have at the minute love it. My rabbit will happily hop all around in the bath and loves have water poured gently over her, like her own personal shower. Just make sure the water is always lukewarm and you dry the bunny off afterwards, I'm sure nobody wants their furry friends getting ill.

I did foster a special needs rabbit before that got used to baths and enjoyed being clean afterwards so he started to connect it together. He was a sweetie. But he couldn't use his back legs so he would frequently get urine scald if he was not bathed at least one a day (just a rear end bath).

I don't think that you are suppose to wash bunnies. They can clean themselves very well and very often like mine, she is a beauty. She likes to be petted and she love bananas pieces and bread and apples too, well take of your nice bunny.
