I use Windows Media Player because it came with the system... I guess that makes it free? I used to listen to music on my PC via iTunes (that you can also download for free) but I took it out after a while. I like Windows Media Player because you can minimize the window and opt to have a task bar in stead. That totally makes it easy to operate and listen to music in the background while I'm working, I think. :)

I know there are probably a lot of people who listen to music on their computers and there are a lot of different programs that can be used to play music and some people say one program is better than the others, which I am not sure if that is true or not because I think a music player should be a music player,I have never used I tunes before but I have heard a lot of good things about it,and it seems like it would be a really good music player,I have used Real Player and Windows Media Player before and I think both are on this desktop even though I hardly ever use Real Player because it usually has problems loading some of the songs, and it takes longer to play the songs than Windows Media Player, and Windows Media Player seems to load quickly and it seems to be very good quality when it plays the music and I am very happy with Windows Media Player and I do not think I would ever use a different program to play music unless something comes out that is better than Windows Media Player and actually gets me to like it.

I absolutely hate iTunes! Real Player isn't that great either. The only thing I will ever use is Miscrosoft Media Player.

I use different systems depending on if I planning on listening to the same song over, just random songs, or a certain playlist. For the same song, I use Realplayer. For random songs, I use the program that came with my zune. For playlists, I use Winamp or Windows Media Player. It's a little confusing, but I find that certain programs are better for doing certain things.

I always use Windows Media Player, because it came with the system, and I do not need to install an additional program to listen to music. But sometimes I find launching Windows Media Player takes quite long time, perhaps I should switch to some other free program.

We use winamp. It has the ability to play a lot of different media, can rip tracks off of your favorite cds, (and even have it all named for you, if you allow it online access)has some nice visual programs you can run as you listen to music, and has the ability for online stations and such. Pretty good programme, though it never seems to come with any system, but to us, it is worth the DL.

When I listen to music online, I almost always go to www.pandora.com It's a free site. Pandora is unique, in that it's a music genome project. It's classifies music by style, type of artist, etc. You cannot request a specific song, by a specific artist. If you enter a song title, it will play similar styles of songs by many artists. Or, if you put an artist in, it will play songs by that artist, as well as others who have similar sounds and styles. I like it because I almost always hear something that I've forgotten about or haven't heard in years. Give it a try!
