In our country, there are different religions here.
But Catholic dominates here...
Other religion say if you are a member of them God will save you..
I apologize for this but I do not believe in that..
I dont care what religion I am into..More important is how is your faith in GOd.
and your deeds..
Religion is useless and going to church is useless if you have no faith in him.
Your deeds also are important....
SO do you also think religion can save you ???

I dont think a faith in god (any higher power for that matter) is what "saves" ppl..I think a belief and faith in themselves is what is important AND how one behaves in general

Religion CAN be useless but it can be very useful as well...it all depends in how any given person sees it and lives with it ya know..
SO do you also think religion can save you???
No....we can only save ourselves (and of course what being "saved" is depends on each person individually)...

I think religion is man made to keep people separated into different groups. All religions tell their followers they are the only ones who will be saved. I believe that there is a creator but would not affiliate myself to any religion as we are all one race, the human race. I make my decisions about people by meeting them and learning about them as individuals, some I like and some I don't. My decision is never influenced by their race or religion only by their behaviour. If you look through the history books you will find many wars caused by religion, but each religion claims to follow a loving god. I cannot equate the two things.

You'd probably enjoy the Zeitgeist movies Zeitgeist (2007) and Zeitgeist Addendum (October 2008). They're free for online viewing or to download and burn to watch on your television (all free) at www.zeitgeistmovie.com .

I know that relegion cannot save anyone. Faith in God and as a Christian also in Jesus Christ, is the only justification for getting saved.
You are right; no church, Catholic or any other can save anyone. As a Christian, we believe that only God through Jesus Christ can save us. And that even good works without faith in God cannot save you. Only through faith, and faith alone.
Good works are supposed to be the duty of every human being. So good works with faith are to follow your faith in God.
Any Church who preaches that being a member only, will save you, is not worthy to exist as a church. That is a false doctine.
What religion are you in? I'm Christian.

In my opinion the only things that can save us is to do sin no more, Most of the religion, believes the same God. We only practices different belief and practices according to our religion but same God. Only our faith and good doings can only save us.

in my vision all the religions are like rivers which flow seperate way and unites in the ocean .all the religions point to the supreme power by there own paths,a religion cannot save u or harm u,a religion can just point out wht is truth and u hav the right to accept it or not,and dont ever belive in anyone who is a follower of a religion, belive in a human who sees all the good and bad of all religions, u can accept the goods in ur religion and can neglect the bad and can take good frm other religion toooo.the practice which makes u happier and make u in peace is defenitely is ur religion

I think what is really important is the relationship of you with Him is important. of course when you belong to a certain denomination you should follow their rules to show that you really belong to them of course. For me religion is a must since God created man to be communal so each person must belong to a certain group in practicing his faith. But I do not believe that God chose only one Religion as a representation of Him. It is composed of different ones to suit the needs of each and every individual. To find where he is most suited to connect with Him.

Hi dorothy, as long as you have faith in your God it doesn't matter about going to church..it is wrong to say if you are a member of the church you will be save..that is something I don't actually believe in myself either, so dont feel alone in this...your friend littleowl

You are right, being a bench warmer does not save you. We go to church to be obedient to God's will, (fellowship with the saints), those righteous through Jesus. We go also to learn of God and to draw closer to Him through His word. We go to church to witness to either other of the goodness of God, to lift each other up. All of these keep us strong in the Lord.

I believe the only religions which would please a true God who created all people would be those religions who would at least pray for the salvation of all the people God created. Who's saved and who's damned, I have to leave in God's hands. People tend to spin religion around so freely into small little incompatible sects of thought, it is impossible to really know who has the straight story.

Hi dorothy09,
I was brought up as a Catholic but I went away from that religion many years later because I didn't believe in the church and what they stands for, after searching for years, I have found my path, the Wiccan path.

when I was still a kid,I used to believed all what my parents say about religion, that I have to conform with what my religion dictates .As I grew up,I've had the chance to mingle with all individuals from all walks of life with different religions, beliefs and understanding about our faith. Now,I believe there is no such thing as being saved by one specific religion. It really doesn't matter from what religion or sect we belonged because religions are just different paths or approaches to one goal and that is our God.what matters is we have LOVE in our hearts

Personaly, I think religion is just another reason for people to fight. WWhen going to church and reading the bible many people seem to forget that the bible was written by a MAN not GOD himself, and that not everything in the bible may be true.

The bible was written by man by messages that he recieved from God, so in a way it was written by God.

If you have a relationship with God, in any way, I think you can be saved. It doesn't matter if you have a certain "definition", like Christian or Catholic, you just have to have God in your every day life. That is just my belief. Take care. :)

I am not sure if religion saved me. I only know that it is the serenity that keeps the sanity in me ; the activities I partake helps take away any unhappiness and it is the medicine I took to heal the heart but there are side effects. I am still alive today and puzzled over what has happened.

Hi dorothy, Religion should be a way of life and has nothing to do with belonging to any particular church. Jesus Christ taught us how to live and get along with others and one can spend everyday in church and it will be pointless unless they try to follow his teachings. As you say there are some churches who claim that if you join them you are saved, but of course that is nonsense. There are many other religions besides Christianity, and they too have good teachings. It is not about belonging to one particular group but in seeking peace and loving our neighbour as ourselves. Blessings.

Religion is a political organization, it is a place where power is given to a few over many. There are good things that come out of this as well as bad, but i think God has very little to do with it. I have known many very good people who rely on
their religion to answer all their questions of God. But I am not one of those.

Religion can save. Because in religion what ever we involve there is the teaching inside about our faith. How do we know faith if we don't belong in religion. Whereas faith can save us. And if we have faith we do good to our fellowmen because inside our faith teach about love. For God teach also Love that He wanted us to do in order to save us. If we don't have religion we know nothing. They are the teacher of our faith.
