in my case i really wanted my kids to be to have shorter hair when they are small, i just think they cant handle long hairs, and i just think little girls look more good and neat on shorter hairs, maybe you could tell her that way!!my mom tells us before that little girls should be like that, actually in my intire grades school life i have short hair not that too short, two or three inches below my ears, that way i can use headband!!i have my long hair when i was in my high school, because my mom told me that i can do good on my own already!!and when the kid has long hair the vitamins tend to go to the hair, thats my mom tells, thats why some kids that has long hair are thinner,heheheh..happy lotting!!

maybe you could tell her that when she wants longer hair then she should manage it by herself or else youll cut it short, its just a matter of disciplining i think, and telling her whats best for her!!

I grow up with short hair until university. And I don't know if my mother is like you, lol, so that she need not to help me comb my hair. So I am used to short hair and I liked it. Well, my father always told me that I will became less clever if I kept long hair, because the nutrition would have been wasted on the long hair and my brain couldn't get enough energy for my study. That worked for me, haha. Maybe you can give it a shot on your daughter. I don't know whether it's a scientific fact, though.

Im not sure if you are willing to lie to her but if you are...: Tell her that she has lice or nits and say that if you dont cut her hair then it will fall out. My mum told my sister that and so she cut it off herself (looked hilarious- very nice after the hairdresser fixed it tho).
