What is the best way to become better at playing chess?

Hello to all chess enthusiasts. Nice to meet all of you. I love to play chess, I think it's a really interesting game. There's more books written about chess than any other sport, ever. That's just shows how interesting chess is, and there's just so much to talk about. I wish that I can win more games in chess competitions and I am currently trying very hard to get better at chess. Hope you guys can leave some tips on the best method of training or activity that can be done to improve chess skills. Is it reading books, or playing with the computer, or do you have any other method, or training schedule? What kind of training do you do?

I too think chess is a great game to play , I incerases our skill somehow I feel . yep many books on chess . I feel you can improve your skills by reading book for dummies as it goes to basics . many times ve try and learn tough stuff and cant do our best because we forget some simple stuff of that sport . so you can go for that book , atleast it will help you somehow
