and is in the hospital again. He's been diagnoised to have dementia and congestive heart failure. He's been having problems with swelling in his arm but the doctors don't know what's causing it. He just got out of the hospital on Wednesday and already he's back in. The family doesn't think he'll be around much longer. He wants to die to be with his wife, hubby's mother. She passed away in May. Right now he's hallucinating seeing his dead wife and other people he's known in his life. I think they're going to make him comfortable as they can until he crosses over. Gee, when it rains at my house, it really pours!! I so hope that next year will be better!! It just has to be!!

I am sorry to hear that CatsandDogs. I think it is common for very sick people hallucinating especially if their oxygen level going to the brain decreases. I think your husband's step day is also experiencing that and that is why he is hallucinating.

Yes and because of having dementia too. The two together can really make a havoc of the brain. It's probably a good thing since he's so far up in age anyway that he doesn't know what's going on around him. If I were about to die, I'd like to be kind of like that so I wouldn't know.

I am sorry to hear this. I know what your hubby is going through. In March of 2007 my grandfather passed away, Then in December of 2007 my grandmother started having problems. She finally passed away in January of 2008. My grandmother also had dementia. It was a hard thing to go through but we knew that she wanted to go and be with grandpa. I am sorry that you have to go through this.

Ahhh, that is so sad. My wish for you and your hubby is some sunny days, with no rain clouds. You have had way to many clouds lately.

Not just clouds Polly but big ole black ones!! Next year has to be better than this. It just has to be. The year 2000 was a hell of a year for my family too and the following year was much better so hopefully that'll be the case again. Then I'll have to wonder, will it be like this every 8 years? God, I hope not!!

An umbrella? Sheesh!! I need a canopy!! Or would that be big enough? Damn! I can't believe all this is going on! There seems to be no end in sight!! Thanks Kat for all your prayers!! It's probably the only reason I've been able to keep my sanity thus far.

You know, it is always darkest before the dawn..And though I don't wish bad things on people, we all go through this darkness. I hope and pray that next year you will look back at this time and see it in a different light, because being in the midst, your emotional senses are heightened and you feel discouraged..But if you do remember, that soon, you will see the light, and just keep hanging in there..:)

This is some darkness carmelanirel and it seems to never let up. Next year has to be a better year or I'm going to go insane!! Every time I say it's going to get better or it has to get better, it seems to get worse. I'm so tired and I'm so.... oh, everything! I'm hanging in there though, the best that I know how but it's getting harder and harder to any more.

Just keep hanging on..We are getting it too, in our finances, as soon as it looks like we are getting out of this mess, we get another certified letter for this or that.. But we got to remember who is in charge and depend on Him to bring us through it..You do have a lot going on, and I am not trying to water it down, you are much stronger than I would ever be if I were in your shoes, and I pray that you do get some peace, even as the storm hits you in full force...

I really sorry to hear that your husband's stepdad isn't doing to good. I think now it's just trying to be there for him and with him, in his last moments. When his time comes, at least, he's not going to be suffering anymore. And is going to be with your husband's mother.
