well i finally got the courage up and dragged myself to a local weighwatchers meeting on wednesday. i felt oh so positive and also brave as im not very good in a crowd where i no noone.
they made me feel welcome and some told me of their successes, it felt good and i decided when i got home i was gonna spend that evening getting aquainted with the food plan choices and reading all the books.
well i decided to do the core plan rather then the points plan.
i think in reality the points plan would have better results as you have to weigh everything, on the core plan if u eat healthy you dont have to weigh. so naturally i went for this option lol as i have a big appetite. you also get 21 weekly points to spend on any foods u like.
im a little worried now as i have used all of these points already and its only saturday. my next meeting is not til wednesday.
i can exercise to gain more points, but im so lazy s it is that doing half hour of jogging just so i can eat a slice of bread isnt appealing.
is anyone else on or been on this core plan? how did you cope?
i need some tips please.
also some help on staying fuller for longer.

When I was on weight watchers, I did much better on the core plan. I found that I lost more weight those weeks because I could eat all the fruits and stuff from the core menu when I was hungry. What I did was break up the 35 core points and ate 5 a day, if that.
You are now going to be careful and make sure just to stick to the core menu and you will do fine.
Good luck, you really do loose with weight watchers.

Hi thats what i like about the core plan too that you can eat as much fruit as you want. But we only get 21 points weekly so kind of hard. I had first weigh in today and i only lost half a pound so not impressed. But determined to do better this week and have done a little healthy food shopping so hopefully it will be ok.

I thought it was 35 points for the week when on core. Stick with it, drink all the water and take your vitamins.

I have never joined the actual weightwatchers program or attended meetings or anythng like that; but about 6 or so years ago I bought the weightwatchers points book and fllowed their points system. In a 3 - 4 month period I ended up losing around 27 kilograms. I was not interested in having to weigh foods or get all caught up in group meetings etc so this approach suited me perfectly! It was a challenge at first, but in a short period of time it actually got to the point where I was struggling to reach the daily points target because I was so full! lol. It worked for me very, very well and the six smaller meals per day ensured I was never hungry. I also used to eat less points per day than I was supposed to, so that I could be a bit of a pig one day a week! I didn't exercise either by the way, not once! The key is to hang in there and make the effort until it becomes natural to do things this way. Good luck!

wow well done, that makes me feel really positive, especially since u didnt exercise, i hate it lol. though i know its harder for others to lose weight, sometimes things need to be adjusted a little to feel the benefits, im glad it worked for you.
i am going to weight watchers meeting and im gonna continue doing that cus i like the socialising, also it feels good when u lose weight and others congratulate you.
im hoping also the fact that im paying to go will keep me in check too.
thank you for a very positive post.

jarael,
you've already made the first step to losing weight! i've been on weightwatchers for a month now and i've already lost 16 pounds, you've gotta keep up with it and think of your goals, i don't get super hungry anymore and i love the fact that i can still have cake and cookies! the smartones are a real good idea as well! if you're always on the go i'm a college student and i work part time during the day before class so it's very helpful for me. I would recommend you go with the points plan for at least a couple months before you get used to the system that's what i started out with and it's been about 1 week that i haven't been recording my points and i only lost 1.6 pounds on thursday when i went to my meeting compared to the 8 and 4 pounds that i would lose when i would record everything i ate! i think i'm going to keep recording because it's most helpful! good luck!!

hi thank you for posting, well done on your weightloss. i did try the points plan a few years ago and i only lasted one week.
i have a lot of issues around food and weight and can get really obsessive about calorie counting and weighing etc, thats why i thought it would be better for me to do the core plan.
also at the same time i have to cut out all dairy, almonds, pineapple and caffine.
this is why i am unable to eat weightwatchers own brand things, i used to love those fruities.
i must check actually as im not sure if they do contain dairy, but most thinngs do these days, its a real pain.
i dont often eat junk, im quite a healthy eater most of the time. my main problem is trying to either eat regulary, like today for instance i didnt eat breakfast and for my last meal i ate 3 mini corn on the cobs, a bottle of really light ribena and 2 iced buns, by 10pm i was starving and feeling dizzy, sick and heavy sweating. i get this a lot if i skip meals, i think its low blood sugar.
so to stop it i went and ate a bacon and tomato sandwich lol, which has blown my weekly points balance lol.
