when did you got your first cell phone?

the funny thing is.. i got my first phone at the end of my 8th grade year... right after i got paneled lol. and it was a pretty nice phone too, it was a sony ericsson w550i.

I got my first cell phone after much arguing with my parents during the start of my 2nd year of college lol.. i was 19 =P cell phones weren't as popular as they are today.. it was 2002 if i recall correctly. It was the realllly old Nokia gray brick like model lolz... My sister is 18 and got her first cell two years ago i dont know what kind it is... but i was open mouthed when i heard thinking NO FAIR lolz but oh well im happy for her... times change people change =P

I was 12 when I got my first mobile phone and I was 12. I had to nag my parents so much to let me have one! It was a brick! It was an eriksson, and I bought a cadburys milk chocolate cover for it. I thought it was great because it has a composer u could programme ringtones into and it had 3 games. I was a cool kid! lol!

I got my first cell phone the day after I turned 18, which was January 2nd of 1989. I used to work at Radio Shack part time & I don't even remember the brand or the name of the phone. I just remember it was a brick.

My partner bought me a cellphone Sony Erickson and my biological father gave me a gift after I graduated college. I'm planning to buy with my own salary. Keep posting.

I know what you mean cell phones play a key part in peoples lives right now and it seems like no matter where you go everyone is carrying a cell phone from elderly people,down to teens,and it even seems like kids are carrying cell phones now which is really shocking,and people are always on there cell phones chatting it up with their friends,or texting their friends,and even in public places you find rude people who are always on their cell phones talking loudly which can ruin a perfect evening,and it seems that even people on the road are talking on a cell phone while driving which is very dangerous,because they can not focus on the road and their cell phone at the same time,which I thought they were making it against the law to talk on the cell phone while driving,and the only time you need to talk on the cell phone while you are driving is if there is an emergency,me and my fiance do not have a cell phone right now,because it fell off my belt and got ran over by a big truck so it does not work anymore,which is fine with me,because we can live without a cell phone,and we share cell phones with my mother and father,since we do not go out that much anyway,and I remember when I got my first cell phone I was seventeen,which means the year was 2002 I think which time is flying by so fast so it is hard to keep up with years,and it was a big phone that my parents got from Sprint,and I remember they bought it for me because I got my license and my first car,and they wanted me to be able to call them if something happened,or if there was a emergency,or if I needed to call and tell them something or ask them something.

I got my cell phone when I am 15 N' that is 2005..It was a black NOKIA 6600.. My dad bought it for me as a B'day gift.. :) loved it very much..

In January 2002 my son upgraded his mobile and gave me his old one. That was my first and it was a Nokia. Since then, I've had a Motorola & a Siemens - (both of which I bought 2nd hand on ebay) & now I've got a Nokia again which I bought new about a year ago.

i got my first cellphone when i was 16, and it was a "peanut phone" LOL it was a Motorola v120c unique shape which made it's nickname the "peanut phone" great phone! it fell out of my pocket when i went to the bathroom and i accidentally flushed it without noticing!! luckily it didn't go down and i took a dryer to it and it worked as good as new!! had it for about 3 or 4 years i have had respect for Motorola ever since then (unfortunately havent had another Motorola since though LOL)

I got my first my cell phone Nokia 3310 from my cusin 7 years ago. It's used when I got it. Cell phone is very expensive and uncommon at that time. I like it very much though it's not completely new. And it's durability impressed me a lot.

I got my first cell phone when I was 17. It's a Siemens SL45. I was very happy back then lol.
