if your a hardcore gamer, i suggest you upgrade your
graphics/video card to a higher mb of ram,
maybe 512 mb or 1 g if you can find one.
this will improve your gaming experience a lot.
however, if you are just a normal user and wants hi-speed
pc performance, increase your ram to about 2 g and
upgrade your processor to a dual core or quad core.
hope it helps.

Friend graphic card doesnt boost up ur pc, it does to some extend. RAM and the processor is the main thing which helps you to boost up you pc. I recommend 2 GB RAM and intel dual core or any other latest processor. The graphic card helps you to increase you graphics in games, and in multimedia applications. So go for the above recommended one

I totally agree with you. If you are running under Vista 2gb ram is what you are looking for. The major thing affects your computer speed is processor, more GHZs you have faster you are. But upgrading only the cpu doesnt work as everything must be in a balance in order to get the most of your computer.

Many ways to improve the performance of your computer:
1. More RAM
2. Higher processor
3. Enough hard disk space
4. Defragged hard drive
5. Virus, malware, trojan-free
6. Higher graphics card
7. Software, programs and applications up to date and properly patched
what else?

Hmmmm... What is your compputer specs? Do you more ram already? How many MB is your grapchics card? Does it reach to 1 gig? What is your operating system and processor?
These are important matters that must look up if you want to increase you computer's performance in terms of hardware. In software, you must have a reliable antivirus and
Utilities program like Tune-up and WinUtilities. See this link for more info in utilities program. http://justin-computerstuffs.blogspot.com/

If your playing hard kickin games and multimedia softwarez then Graphic card is advisable. Why do you need to boost when your system aren't running games and softwarez? what for? add memory sticks instead.

Your computer's performance and speed are determined by several factors. You need to have a processor that's fast enough for the task. Don't think of spending much for a Core2Quad procie if you're only surfing and typing. Know what to use your PC for. Secondly, choose a good motherboard with a good chipset at the North and South Bridge. You may have cheap motherboards that offer the same chipsets as branded ones but I tell you, the price is all worth buying Branded motherboards. Choose a motherboard that is compatible with your processor and RAM's front side bus and sockets. Third, you're RAM which should be compatible to your motherboard and processor should have a higher frequency. Pentium 3s run at PC100's and PC133s while newer RAMS DDR1-DDR3 have higher speeds. Choose the RAM that fits your motherboard's FSB, never buy RAM modules without knowing your motherboard's specs. Your graphics card can only increase you're computer's performance when playing games or when using Windows Vista bloat, or if you're a Linux user having Compiz-Fusion. You're hard disk should also have higher revs per minute e.g. 7,200 or higher. Always opt for drives with higher RPM's especially if it has a larger capacity. These are just the basics, there's so much in this topic to fit here. But lastly, I have to say that even if you have put up the best hardware, it will be useless if you're OS and softwares are not optimized. Choose a stable OS. If you use Windows, always close and disable start-up programs that aren't in use. Choose an anti-virus that doesn't hog all your memory resources. Defragment your drive when needed. And lastly, keep those pesky viruses, trojans and worms at bay! Hope this helps . . .

Your PC performance is little effected by your graphics card. In other words no way related. Graphics card is used to increase the performance of display. And most motherboards comes with 128 MB of graphics memory. Unless you are using high end games, it doesn't effect the CPU performance. To increase your computer performance, try removing all unused programs, startup programs and finally the unwanted services. To increase the performance, you can add more RAM to your PC or change the processor to high speed.
