I am talking about sharpening kitchen knives here by the way! Ours get blunt all the time and it can be dangerous to use a blunt knife! I have some strange hand held thing that I put the knife blade through to make it sharp and I do this every week or so. What about you? Do you sharpen your knifes too? How often?

Hi CJay. I use to sharpen my knifes once every two weeks. I have one knife that I like to use for cut meat and this one I sharpen always when I use. I have one knife that is laser cutting edge and never need to be sharpened but I noticed that it isn't the same now than when I bought it. It was better before. Well, every thing have end LOL. Have a nice day.

We only have one knife here and it gets pretty blunt easily. I'm not good in sharpening knives and I normally ask Husband to do it because I seem to have less accident on having cuts when the knife is sharp. Thanks, riya.

I have these cool knives from the Pampered Cheft that come with safety covers. Ever time you pull them out, they automaticly get sharpened. I also have a paring knife that I got from Wal-Mart more years ago than I can count. That has some wicked blade on it, because I've never sharpened it and it still cuts great. I didn't pay that much money on it, but it's my favorite.

Wow that sounds great, that every time you pull them up its automatically sharpened. I wish I have the same or maybe when I get back in my home country, I will check these types of knives. Thanks, SukiSmiles.

Hi maxilimian! As for me, I tend to get cuts when the knifes is blunt, thats why I try to sharpen it once a week. My family also uses stone to sharpen the knives, I don't have one here. Thanks for the response.

I don't think I've ever sharpened a knife, CJay. And I'm one to complain about blunt knives.

Your mylot definetel caught my attention.Guess i was thinking of something else..Anyways,my father does the sharpening of knives at home.He usus a sandstone to sharpen them. And he does the sharpening once a week, specially during the weekends whenever he prepares a special meal for the family.I have tried sharpening a knife once but it did not look as good compared to how my father does it,so i guess i will just leave the sharpening job to him. Have a good day Cjay..

I don't sharpen my knives very often. I usually just do them whenever I think one is getting a bit dull. I never do them all at once. I have one of those things that you are talking about. I also have a long sharpening stick.

I don't usually ever sharpen my knives. I don't have the sharpening tool. My grandmother used to sharpen her knives about once every two weeks. I usually just buy new knives. I only cut veggies most of the time, so mine stay sharp for a pretty long period of time anyway.

Hi kenchiprinces! lol, I don't think you have to be ashamed, as you said you rarely spend time in the kitchen. I cook twice a day and it easier for me to cut stuffs when the knife is sharp. Thanks for the response.
