Mystery Shopping

So, after quitting my job at pretty much the worst time ever, I've resorted to mystery shopping to bring in money for myself. I'm sure most of you know the general idea about mystery shoppers, they go to restaurants and retail stores and either buy something or pretend that they are going to buy something and evaluate the service and the cleanliness of the business. Most assignments take less than an hour and pay at least $10. The problem is actually FINDING assignments, because if you want to find enough to make a substantial amount of money off of, you have to register with several sites. But most of you will have no problem doing that, haha. So, anyway, basically you should google MSPA, Mystery Shopping Providers Association, and search for the type of assignments available in your area. I don't recommend accepting any assignments for companies that are not part of MSPA because you most likely will be scammed. Happy shopping! If you have any questions about mystery shopping post them here!

Interesting. I have always wondered what was the deal behind the whole "mystery shopping" thing. So it is legitimate? You have done this before and gotten paid? It seems like it would be easy enough to just stop in to a store and buy something. Are you contracted by the stores that you shop at so the stores can have a realistic idea of their customer service quality or an outside source? What is the point of mystery shopping?

I have been a mystery shopper for some years and I really enjoy it and the extra cash that it brings in. It is very legitimate and like posted before it take about 3-4 weeks to get paid. I have vist stores that i have never been before, got free stuff and its great.
