Tell me what kind of things do you do to make it easier and not so crazy at home? at school?
My son has bipoler with adhd. He started being diagnosed with aspergers but the doctor at monroe myer institute sdidnt follow thru. But anyway how so we cope. How do we make it a working enviroment for those children and the rest of the family. You can have the same rules and guidlines but they are really different in how they learn and develope so how do you do it and get the best end results when they are grown up?

I have a daughter that is 11 years old and was diagnosed with bipolar when she was seve years old. She has been in and out of the hospital 4 times now. I know how frustrating it can be as a parent. The only good advice I can give you that I have received is have your child write down things that they can do to calm them down when they get mad or upset. Then, post this on the fridge so it is always handy. When your child is mad or upset tell them to pick something on the paper to do. Most of the time this works because the child feels they have a choice. My daughter usuall read or listen to some uplifting music. Also I have found arguing with this type of child should not be a option at least with my daughter. It just makes things worse. One last thing is that these kids need to be on a set schedule. I would get a dry erase board and write each day out. Time you want what chores done, time you usually eat dinner, time he/she does their homework and so on. It really helps them know what is coming next that way there is no question or room for arguements.
