How much is too much?

My MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) group is doing a fundraiser this weekend. The company we are working with is Antiquities Studios out of TN. The way is works is you buy a $10 coupon, which is good for the photo sitting fee and a 10 X 13 professional portait of your kids. Then when you come back in a couple weeks to pick up your photos they have all of the poses developed and you can choose the photos you like.
And maybe I'm just stingy, but the photo packages start at $119 and go up from there. Now if you spend $179 or more you can pick and choose sheets of different poses, basically whatever you like. Plus tax of course.
So I just really am having a hard time spending $179 and probably closer to $200 with tax on photos of my kids. Now I know they are going to be really cute and I do believe she got some great shots, but I'm having a hard time parting with the money. (Since my part time job is not making me a whole lot extra).
What do you think? Is it worth it to pay for professional portraits? I'd almost rather take my own pictures and create my own christmas cards (which I also want to do).
