We are lucky we have been paying our mortgage for years are are nearly at the end of its term. We watch the news and take a lot of notice of the countrys financial situation,we feel very sorry for anyone getting on the property ladder these days .The problem is the money men they have messed up pretty bad , taken all that money from the government, then tell everyone they are going to be mean with our money ,after all it is ours.Something has got to be done otherwise the social housing programme is not able to cope with all these people who are having problems and needing accomadation. What do you think

Yes, you are really lucky! My husband an I just bought a flat last year. But last month, my husband lost his job. So now is very hard for us to pay for the mortgage. My husband has looking for job nearly two months. But still hasn't found anything. And we have a son who will turn five next year. Our situation looks really bad. I hope he can find something to do as soon as possible.

My husband and I were going to try to buy a house over the summer but with the economy and mortgage situation so bad I think it will be hard to get a mortgage loan unless you have a substantion amount of money for a down payment which we don't have. I really feel sorry for those who were paying mortgages then becasue of the economy one wage earner loses their job then they can't afford to pay the mortgage and the bank comes after them hopefully something can be down to help them.

I am really depressed about the whole housing situation. My husband and i have rented apartments for years and we are tired of moving all the time. We also just had our second child a couple of months ago. We really wanted to buy our own house next year but now we are not sure if we are going to be able to get a loan or if we even should try.

Yes it is crazy and in Northern Ireland the housing prices got really crazy there for a while. The rise here was much higher than in other parts of the UK. I am a young single girl and I have worked really hard in a good job to be able to afford my own apartment which I think I got for a good price. It cost me £123k, but was £180k before the house prices started to fall. Prices are continuing to fall here but one thing I am happy about is the fact that mortgage rates are down because in the drop of interest rates. I hope the government keep it this way so that I can continue to decorate my house whilst enjoying lower mortgage repayments.
