Can you really post a topic about listening?

After some serious thought, (not too serious though) I have come to the conclusion that starting a discussion about listening doesn't really make any sense. To be a good listener, you need to be able to analyze and assess the information given. Here however, I am starting a discussion with no prior information. Kind of backwards, wouldn't you say? So here I am, talking about listening but not actually doing it. I look forward to "listening" to what anyone has to say about this. Sincerely: Sabian1415

But see listening takes more than one form to me now a days. Text messaging, emailing and discussion sites have made their way into our lives so much that this is a form of listening as well. You do not need to actually hear words being spoken to have to listen to someone. My grandmother has been deaf for well over a decade. We still 'talk' by writing things down to her. You can have a complete conversation with someone even when they cannot hear you necessarily.

Wow you make a really good point Sabian. Listening is very important in life and also in mylot community. I will listen to anything else you have to say in other discussions. But i will also discuss. That's the key. It takes listening and responding to create a great mylot discussion. Good day.
