I heard that Sherrilyn Kenyon was going to be at a book signing not far from where i live and i love her Dark-Hunter series of course i wanted to go meet her and have her sign a book for me. The book signing was yesterday and i went and meet her. I was so excited i have never meet a new york times best selling author before nor had i had any of my numerous books signed. I also had my picture taken with her. She was so nice about it as well. I also picked up two other books at the bookstore she was at had them signed by the authors who were there. So have you ever meet a famous author?? Do you have any books signed by the author??

I would love to meet one of my authors but not just to get a book signed. I would want to sit down and have lunch or coffee or something so that I could really talk to them.

I would love to have sit down and talk to her for awhile, but with my social anxiety i probably would stutter most of the time.

Yes, I have had the priveledge of getting to meet one of my favorite authors Debbie Macomber about 15 yrs. ago at a Fred Meyer I used to go too all of the time, and even worked at for a short time. She writes Romantic adventure type of books, and even autographed my book for me, and showcased me and her together in one of her Newsletters. I would Love to meet her again though just to let her know I am still a Big fan of her writing as well, and get some tips as I would Love to be a published author myself someday. I also have met Ann Rules Son, as she is from this area, and have a Book signed by her, but would also Love to eventually meet her in person someday. I feel she will always be one of the Best True Crime authors out there ever.

Hahaha, I never met my favorite author, cause I don't have one. I don't like watching TV series or soap operas. It's a waste of time. =]

I wish I had met one of my favorite authors, it would be so awesome. Though, I do have a book signed by an author, it's a Princess Diana biography. Though, a rather locally famous author bought my family's old car. It was pretty cool to meet him.

There is a local author my family knows but he is not famous for his writings and he gave my mom a copy of all his books and signed them for her. I thought that was awesome..he later became a state representative then mayor the town and i always thought it was cool that i could say i knew him.

I met the fantasy writer Terry Pratchet a few years ago. The man is both a gentleman and a genius. We are going to miss him so much and feel cheated blessed be

I have never actually met authors I love to read, but I have met authors who have become favourites after meeting them. I do have a few autographed books. I'd have more but I couldn't afford to buy more than one book at the events I attend. We have an annual event in our region every fall where authors speak, read from their novels and then we get to socialize with them afterwards. Check my story here on my latest meeting: http://www.authspot.com/Journals/Armchairs-Authors-and-Arts-Review.289665 In the past I wrote to my favourite authors and they wrote me back. One actually wrote a hand-written note to me. A couple of these authors have since passed away so those letters are priceless to me now. Today, however, all you have to do is send an email and sometimes they will email you back. Danielle Steel emailed me back when I asked her a question about a book of hers I was reading. I would really like to meet Joy Fielding. She is a popular author and I do read her books. She is also Canadian and has based some of her books in Toronto, my home town. She was in our area speaking a few years ago but I didn't hear about it until after the fact. Hopefully some day....
