I Believe if we need to have a firm understanding on God (on what he reveal Himself to us at this point in time), Who and What He is. It is important to discuss His nature as revealed in the bible.
The First thing we need to understand about God is...God is a Spirit.
What can you say about it?
Note: Let us trive to be very objecitve on this subject as much as possible.
Thank you.

Yes God is spirit, but also physical. If you were to read the text in Hebrew, Ugarit, Akkadian or Sumerian text the concept of god is very different from what we are taught today. The Two Powers of heaven doctrine says that their is an invisible, unseen God we can not comprehend, and he is also at the same time a physical manifestation, both being of the same essence, and uncreated. The physical manifestation of god is the one who makes himself known to us. In the ancient days he was simply called the Word of God, also the unique Son of God, a son who was not born or created, but was always one with god the father. The birth of Jesus, called the Christ or Messiah was not the birth of the Son of God, he was before anything was. It was God the Son manifesting in flesh, for us to see. But this even was not his first appearance, He also appeared to Moses, and other patriarchs as the Word of God. This is the only God we can come to, because it is the only God we can comprehend.
