I bought a Toshiba Laptop from bestbuy. I came home, and turned the laptop on.. it worked fine. I used it 2-3 in a matter of a week. I perfer a desktop, but I got the laptop just in case I go to travel somewhere. After about 2 weeks I need my laptop so I took it with me.. when it came time to use it it told me that it can't find its hard disk, that it may be damaged, or I should re install..Now i kept the laptop in a good place and untouched. I don't have brothers, sisters or anyone that would touch it, or any of that. I called the best buy tech service and they were horrible. at first I waited for about 15 minutes, then I kept being re directed to about 3 different people before I even could tell them what's really going on. Finally once I do the person tells me to bring it their geek squad. I brought it and they had a nerve to charge me money, not 50 bucks, but it was about 250 dollars, and I would have to wait about 3 days. So i said no thanks, I bought the laptop brand new, used it about 2-3 times and I should pay more? No thanks.
I take it to return it and they have a "14 day policy" which doesnt let me return it after 2 weeks.. so now Im stuck with a non-working laptop and their service sucked.

I would call the Best Buy Customer Service Department and complain, then I would also call the computer manufacture that laptop should be under warranty also. the Manufacture should repair / replace that laptop. it is less than a year old, and in fact it is even less than 90 days old I would try that

i tried that, and they told me I was suppose to 'buy' the warranty/insurance.. when they offered it to me they told me if i buy its incase i "drop" it or "spill a drink on it" and things like that. Ofcourse I was planning on using the laptop for work, not football! so i figured it should have a warranty under it's manafacturer but i guessed wrong

Well, any computer can get damaged so I don't blame Best Buy for that. What we can blame them for is terrible customer service -- they want to charge you $250 to fix something that you've barely used and bought so recently? High repair costs make it so people often prefer to replace their electronics (or fix them themselves), but it's hard to bear giving up on a new laptop after only a couple of weeks. Maybe you should try to find another place to get it repaired or ask a friend knowledgeable about computer repair to help you out.
