Facebook is a great social networking site thatgives the users the ability to know whats going in the lives of all of their friends. While this sounds amazing, it can also be scary. I have known people to delete their facebook accounts precisely because people always knew what they were doing. In my opinion, it is the users fault for putting any information on the internet. Lets see what you guys think about this. Do you think the information availability is a great success? Do you think Facebook has gone too far? or do you just want to talk about facebook in general? all of these are welcome. cant wait to hear your thoughts and opinions.

I have a facebook. I like it so far. I hate all the applications but I just ignore them. I use it to keep in touch with distant family and friends that I went to high school with. I don't go there but once a week or so.

I also hate all the applications. I am on it basically all day either with a computer or my iphone, mainly to keep in touch with my friends and activities. One cool thing i used it for was to find some people i remembered from first grade. Surprisingly some people remember who i am. you should try it.

I share your views about facebook. I, too, utilize the photos and events abilities on Facebook. And those privacy settings are key, especially for those who havent reached adult ages yet. Kids need to be careful with these social networking sites these days. Thanks for your input.

Yeah, it's a good site to keep in touch with your friends, it's especially good that you can still get contacted with some friends that you haven't been contacted for long time, as there are many people joining Facebook nowadays. Yeah, I understand what you meant by the 'scary part'. I tried to think carefully before I add a friend, whether I'd like to share my information with that person. Also, for the information that I do not wish to share with others, I just don't put them in. Another thing I turn it of is the activity I've done in Facebook, such as playing games, etc. Sometimes, I play games in Facebook during working hours, just for relax. But, my colleagues will get to know if I'm not working. that's bad!
Generally, I think Facebook is a good platform for us to keep in touch with friends, just that we need to handle the information more carefully.

i like facebook because i find it is a great way to keep in touch with a variety of friends and family members that you dont always get a chance to see on a daily basis. i also like some of the applications that facebook has, although i like the old facebook much better than the new one.

Great! I dont have a preference of the new one over the old one, however i have recently gotten into the facebook instant messenger. It is great for those fast pace conversations. A lot quicker then sending messages back and forth.

Yes Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with friends and family especially those living overseas. I think each user need to set their privacy setting so that they allow people to see what they want people to see, this way there will be no risk of people finding out what you don't want them to. My only concern about facebook is the way some users just post photos that have other people in them without asking that person first. Sometime you go on facebook and there on your friends' page you see photos of you that you sometimes are not comfortable with it being on internet.

I have a love/hate relationship with facebook. I've deleted mine several times only to bring it back because I need it to get in touch with someone who I can't get in touch with otherwise. But. I don't like the idea of people being able to just search for you and find you. I don't like how impersonal the world had become and people don't even call each other anymore. Just write happy birthday on the facebook wall. However. The Pirate Language feature for translation has turned me into a facebook fan. it's great. arrr

Facebook is by far the best social networking site available on the net to date. Without this site I would have easily lost touch with all my old school and college friends. It also gives me the oppotunity to arrange great nights out and holidays through the creation of events. There's so much you can do on this site...share photos, comment peoples profiles, status, keep your info updated...even have a nosey at people you might have an interest in.
Of course privacy settings are very important on a site like this and I make sure that only my friends can veiw my profile and in certain circumstances any people which I vaguely know and accept I only allow them to view my 'limited prifile' which I can edit whenever I like.
They also have a vast array of applications you can add to your profile this includes games, music programs, IQ tests and other weird and wonderful things. I have also recently discovered a survey site application which pays via paypal through facebook to complete surveys..just another plus for this site as far as I can see.
