Well, there's a famous saying about thoughts "the more you resist, the more it persists". It happens with me manytimes, especially negative thoughts about somebody. If someone hurts me, I try hard to get rid of the thought thinking that I should accept the fact that most of the people are selfish, they are not bothered about me, then why I should I dwell on those thoughts. But many times I am unsuccessful in getting rid of the same thought for many days. What about you? Do you have the power to control your negative thoughts? If yes, then can you give me tips of how to shoo them away. Thanks in anticipation.

Surely one can have control over thoughts with practice steph, but maybe some thoughts(mainly of getting hurt by very close people)become very difficult to control...only time will make them forget. Thanks for your response.

Im always in control over my thoughts as long as i can hold on to it. I avoid conflict and misunderstanding for i dont want to create enemies. But i am only a human and sometimes it exceed to my limitation, i can help it but explode to release all the negative feeling i have. I guess it is normal to release all those thing for it can clear your thoughts and you can have peace of mind.

I have learned a way to deal with our emotions in a TV series called Desperate Housewives. In it a lady said that whenever she felt the emotion getting the best off her, she just opens a box and imagines that she has put all her emotions in that box, and then she puts the box in a closet. After some times, when she becomes calm, she opens the box and deals with those emotions. At that time she could deal with them in a good way because she is no longer angry.
