I want to learn how to swim but the water doesn't like me at all. I cannot stay at the water for 5 minutes and makes bubbles. I got easily panic. I want to overcome my fear. Here in the Philippines wild water rafting is rampant. You may try it also.

For the title of the discussion, I really don't know how to swim but, I really do want to learn how.. I was even considering joining a swimming lesson during the summer but, things just got ahead insted of that intention of mine so up to now, I really don't know how to swim.. (^_^")
In case I do learn how to swim, I might try any sport that involves live water sports like surfing (^_^ )

I have known how to swim for as far back as I can think. It doesn't seem like I ever didn't know how to swim. I love to be in the water and swim. It to me is very relaxing. Sometime when you are in calm water try floating. Relax and just float on the water and it is a really neat experience. The body is automatically buoyant. If you relax you will be able to float right away. I would rather be swimming than doing anything else. Swimming is one of my favorite things to do.

I know a lot of people know how to swim while others never learned how and either do not want to learn or are trying to learn and I know learning to swim can be very difficult especially if you are afraid of water as I have known a lot of people who are afraid of water, when my grandmother was a teen she was pushed into a pool and about drowned so she has since been afraid of water, and never learned to swim, she raised my mom afraid of water, and my mom also never learned how to swim, but my mom said she was going to make sure I learned to swim, because she did not want me being afraid of the water to,so between my father,my aunt,my moms old friend and the YMCA I learned to swim, and I am pretty good at swimming or at least I used to be and I used to be good at diving too,and I remember I used to love to dive off the diving board and it was a lot of fun,and now I do not swim as much and I prefer to just float around because it is a whole lot easier and a whole lot more fun,and I remember one time my mom was house sitting for a rich family that was out of town and they have a swimming pool, and I was outside swimming alone, and I dived down to the bottom of the pool to get something and I almost drowned on my way back which was really scary, but I managed to make it back to the surface, but after that I stayed away from the pool for a while, but I do like to swim every once in a while, because it can be good exercise, and I know it is never fun to swim alone and I remember I always preferred to have friends with me whenever I went swimming.

Yes it's a lot of fun swimming together with your family and friends. Yesterday I had a swimming lesson together with my offismate. My other offismate is From Rescue 911 here in the Philippines they taught us the basic and proper swimming stroke. I'm a little bit slow learner because it's my first time and I'm afraid to be drown. But later on I learn and have fun. It's not bad to face your free and learn. Thank You for sharing your experiance with me. lol

2 years ago I don't know how to swim, just like you. Then I went to natation in summer. I stay at the water and watch other guys swimming. I observe them how to use their hands and foots and how to breath under water. Then I try it myself again and again. Now I still learn more skill. But I can swim, Do more exercise, you can make it.

Hello,
yes i know how to swim. My father teached me to swim when i was 4 yo, then i started to go in a swimming pool every winter.
When i was a bit older, i joined a swim team, and i was in the team for 7 years. I enjoied that a lot, also if it was a bit hard: we were training 4 hours per day, 6 days per week.
I also earned some medals, in various contests.
