last week, I wrote letters a lot to family memeber, I love to write it's more personal then sending an email. It's more like you were thinking about them and took the time to write, instead of just thinking well I'm online I might as well send a quick note.

Yes, you're right. I think too that and hand written letter is more personal, and i also think that the "language" we use when we write an email is really different than the one we use when we hand write something.
Is just like the TXT service of the mobile phones: it changed our way to say things...

I wrote a letter not to long ago to my grandmother. I am currently working on one for my aunt because she sends me cards and small gifts from time to time telling me that she is thinking about me and praying for my health. I love writing notes to my family members and some of the older ladies in church. It always brightens their day to know someone was thinking of them.

Wow, your answer is a clear signal that times are changed. I remember when I was young, we don't need to "work" on letters. We just need to get a blank page, a pen, and we were ready to start to write. Probably we was much more habbit to write, so was not a so big effort write down a letter of a couple of pages ;)
Thanks for your testimony.

Lol, well i was not considering the school's assignments, nor the postal forms. ;)
Anyway you're right, howadays we use emails.
But there is a big difference between an email and an hand written letter.
Emails are something fast, used to comunicate. They are also informal, in the language and in the rules.
Have you ever seen an email starting with "Dear Sir", as well as finishing with "Your faithfully" ?
An hand write letter is a way to espose your feelings, as well as to show you care about something or someone. To write an hand written letter, you need to decide to do that, find the paper, a pen, sit somewhere, think to what you wanna write, get an envelope, a post stamp, and ship it. It requires so much work, instead of an easy to send email, that you would do that only if you really care of the person or of the cause for what you're writing the letter ;)
