Does anyone understand the ending to Memnoch the Devil

I've read the book twice and I'm still confused with the end when Lestat is enraged by Memnoch. Was he tricked? It's like I'm still guessing as to what went on in the end. Did he actually take a trip back to the past with Memnoch, or was he tricked into seeing what Memnoch wanted to see. I can't describe what my issue was fully. Could you just give your interpretation of what happened in the book. Thanks

it the middle part, lestat sort of wanted to help memnoch, well, he didn't really said so but i think he does. but when he saw 'hell' and how memnoch does his work there, he refused to. but memnoch tricked him so he got 'enraged'.

Lestat got enraged because he really didn't want to be Memnoch's accomplice, but Memnoch was able to make him, without Lestat even knowing it. When Lestat finallly realized it, he got angry.
