here in canada, it is called rememberance day and to signify it, we wear a poppy and have a moment of silence at 11 am (the 11th month, the 11th day, the 11th hour). it is good that the schools carry on this because it is a great thing that the new generations learn about what their grandparents and great grandparents did to make the world free.

I agree that it is a good tradition. I come from a long line of Soldiers (back to the Revolutionary War) and being a Veteran is a big deal for me.

Yes I second that! I am a proud member of the VFW Ladies Aux. I have been a member since 2004. I am grateful for all of our men and women out there that have served or that are serving right now. God Bless them All! Thank you for posting that and reminding all of us!

Thanks for the comment. I am also a member of the VFW and I'm happy for what they do and proud for a chance to serve beside them.
