I hate Weetabix

Weetabix has been one of those cereals that I have left and come back to time and time again. When I was shopping this week, I noticed that they where on offer so I bought some. I have not had this cereal for years. So tonight, back on the Weetabix trail I thought I'd look at the product a bit more intensely. They are packed in a roughly A4 size box, which has a flap at one end, that you slash to open. You can then tuck this flap back in. I usually manage to open the wrong end and so cannot do this, even though it's clearly marked. Doh. Once inside the box you have two, separate, white, packets each holding twelve Weetabix. So you try to tear the end of one of these and fight with it to get your Weetabix out. Eventually, after ten minutes. I won. But if you are not careful, and perhaps even if you are, you will get covered in crumbs. Crumbs is an under statement. Now I know why I do not but these things. It has taken me ages to clean my work top and brush my floor. This product has been around for at least fifty years. Why oh why is it still so hard and messy to open. Surely in this day and age, they should come in an easy to open, non-messy packet. How I remember why I have not had this product for years. They have shrunk too. I have just eaten three of them. Do you have a most annoying food item that creates such a mess for you? What do you think could improve it? Does it put you off buying it?

I don't like having to clean up food messes, and will avoid certain food items to ensure that. For example, when I make "spaghetti" for the kids, I rarely use the long stringy paste (like fettuccini, spaghetti, or spaghettini), and will choose something like penne or even macaroni elbows. As for weetabix cereal, I've never tried it before. I know what they are, and I can only imagine the mess from them. Not my idea of fun to clean up for sure. lol.

Never again will I buy them. Thank you for your reply. Spaghetti is a bad one. It sticks to everything and always seems to be left behind on my pots. Bolognaise sauce is really bad too. It stains everything plastic orange.
