To me anytime is a good time to go there. Firstly, for as long as you avoid "hot places" then there is nothing to worry about. Indonesia is huge and on top of that, the media always like to make stories bigger than the actual so that they can sell.
They are all about making money and would say anything to sell their news and that happens to any country in the world. They do not really care about their actions such as making tourists stay away and cause the tourism industry to collapse... That is just an example...
Secondly, my in laws are all there and therefore, if nothing happens to them, why do I need to worry about going to Indonesia and visit them? If the country is not safe as what some people or media said, they would have left and may be come over to my place but I checked with them and they said apart from some isolated case, things are pretty much normal over there.
In fact, I am already planning to go back to Indonesia for a vacation with my family next year. Cheers!

Anytime is okay and fine to travel in Indonesia. As long as you're not going to do bad in there, there should be nothing to be afraid of. My cousin was there last month with her fiance and she said that the beaches there were the best she had been to. There are travel advisories that they give to tourist and everybody out there were very hospitable. ^^,

Indonesia is one of the most beautiful places on earth. I would love to go there someday. I don't think the execution thing should have much impact on your visit there. You should rather be more concerned about any natural calamity than any other thing. My heart goes out for all the indonesians who have been affected by these constantly occuring natural calamities(earthquakes and all). God bless you all.
