should people owners be responsible for their pet's bahaviour?

I think owners should be responsible for their pets actions. I mean we keep our dogs on leashes and do what we can to keep our one dog muzzled because he barks a lot and is protective of his home. He is find with other people, but not with other dogs and I do worry about him and am looking into places I can take him to figure out how to make him not so aggressive. Maybe contact the dog whisperer lol. But I do think people need to be responsible.

I believe people should be entirely responsible for their pets' actions. As animals, they are born with certain instincts and learn behaviour from their own species. If we expect them to live in a human society and obey human rules, they must be taught - as owners, we are responsible for this education. Dogs are, of course, highest on the list of those that need training, since their desire to hunt is natural. Cats also are prodigious hunters and should be taught (as best we can) to live with humans - or at least avoid them! On the other hand, we should also educate people to understand animals so that they do not annoy or incite them to aggression.
