What's the fastest way to recover from pneumonia?

I have asthma. A few weeks ago my peak flows started dropping. Bronchitis soon ensued. Despite treatment it progressed to pneumonia. I got better for a few days. Then when the antibiotics and steroids ran out the relapse started. There's a fundraiser at work this weekend. Being sick isn't an option. Any ideas for being functional by the weekend or at least for staying out of the hospital?
