Problem with graduating....

My problem is that I'm finishing my masterthesis at the moment, but it's taking much too long. I've been working on it now for more then a year! At first I admit I was more busy with my work than with finishing my thesis. But since my teacher told me it would not go fast if I didn't quit my job, I didn't work anymore. But....since then it hasn't gone any faster! My teacher forgets to look at my thesis, and always changes her mind about what I need to change. So in july I told her: I'm going on vacation and I really want to finish before I'm leaving. She admitted that it was taking too long and told me that if I changed this and that, she would look at it while I was gone (for 2,5 months) and that I didn't have to pay for another year university. She told me: I will not forget you now, don't worry, I'll let you know when you're back. So... I waited, and nothing happened: she forgot me again! Then she changed her mind again and I needed to change a lot of things in my thesis. Then the second teacher looked at it and has send my thesis to the wrong person! So my thesis was lost and they had to search for it at university. Then again it was send to me, but it took more then a week to reach me! The second teacher wanted me to change a lot too. And a lot of things were reviewed by her before and then it was OK! Now I've made al the changes and my teacher is looking at it again. I've brought it to her 1,5 week ago, and I've allready send her an email if she's looked at it. But I haven't heard anything. What do you think if you read this? Is this normal?

That seems really unreasonable. They shouldn't just leave it for weeks on end especially if you are out of work while you are waiting for them to get back to you. Is there a head of department that you can talk to? I think you should take this above the head of your teacher and compain to the university as this is really out of order. Hope things workout for you.
