Christmas Cards are invading soon! / myLot

Do you still take the time and expense of sending out Christmas Cards? All of my in-laws send us cards every year, complete with school pics and newsletters. I haven't sent out Christmas cards in years, I prefer to donate the money I would spend on the cards and postage to the local homeless shelter, I figure they need it more than my in-laws need another card to hang on the door jamb. Do you send out cards? Or do you prefer to do something more worthwhile with the money you could have spent on cards?

[i]I make my own cards & send to all friends that very special to me! but for friends that far away from me I send them Ecards!

I do both. I still believe that a hand-written note means much more than an e-mail; it shows time and concern. So, I send handmade cards with personal notes to my close family and friends and e-mails to people that I am either not so close with, or that I know would rather get something in their in box.
