It is consider in the cricketing world that India is the country were the Cricketing Lovers are but the just concluded series between India and Australia has everyone wondering if Test Matches is now a thing of the past. Every match that has been played in this series you see empty stands.
When compared with the T20 series that draw a lot of crowds, this series has not have one stand full. Australia and India has alot of supporting crowds but still they play without the usual crowds that are common with these two sides.
Is it that we are now seeing the truth that no one is interested in Test cricket anymore. Remember in the early days when there were dissent in the cricketing nations and Packer formed the Packer League in South Africa because of this ICC One day was implemented. Maybe ICC will have to abandon Test Cricket and just concentrate on One Day and 20/20 matches. I would also like to congratulate the India Team on their victory over Australia. It is a win which is well deserved after what took place in the previous series.
What are your thoughts on this topic?

I would completely agree with u in this topic.I also have noticed the empty stands in the test matches and these are signs of decresing craze for Test matches.
Nowdays, limited over matches especially T20 have gained so much of attention that now people find long 5 days of test matches very boring.
The format of ICL and IPL have furthermore decreased the standards of test matches.
So i also think that ICC will have to abandon this test cricket format.
And India definitely deserved to win this series.....

Thank you so much for your response. I sincerely hope that the ICC Chiefs will look at what is happening in Test Matches and try to put more emphasis on One Days and 20/20. We the cricket lovers really need to see more competition. Maybe it will take time to abandon Test Cricket completely seeing that the itinerary has been set for some countries a year or so ago. 20/20 and One Days has surely brought out a lot of crowd and to revived back the interest of Cricket they need to put more emphasis were the crowd are. Have a nice day. Kerri

Hi kerriannc,
Everything about crowds that you mentioned here is exactly correct, i too agree that the crowd was not so as in the past. The main reason behind this is if you want to buy tickets for test match, you need to buy for all five days, more over the game moves so slowly and so prefer not to waste their money! Where as T20 is the shorter version of the game ends up so fast and goes at its rocket lightning speed. So people prefer T20 over test cricket!
