I would have to say that I would throw it away. The good thing though in my house cheese gets eaten fast and I would never have to worry that it would sit in the fridge long enough to go bad.

Believe me i very rarely see moldy cheese either. With eight of us food never stays in the fridge to long.Thankyou so much for your response. But i do know that cheese is cured with mold growing all around it.

Thank you for your response and i must say i agree with you.Beings that cheese is cured with mold growing on it it doesn't seem like it would hurt anything. However i have been known to throw it out.Happy MyLotting!

With cheese (hard block cheese) yes, I cut off the mold and we eat it...my Dad taught me that and so did my Mom. With jelly, no. I don't do it with jelly or any kind of sauce like spagetti sauce, hot sauce or sour cream.

I am a germ phobic - so I would definately throw it away - there is no way I could eat it.

Ha ha,with kids there is no time for germaphobic stuff in my house. My moddo is just threow bleach on it and wipe it off.But as for the cheese,it's cured in mold anyhow!Well at least decent quality cheese is.

If the cheese has mold on it then I throw it away, if it is just a bit of hard cheese then I will just slice it off. Anything that I find with mold on it will go in the bin!

Yes sounds like the thing to do sometimes.Hardly ever is it that food would stay in my refriderator long enough to mold anyways. But as far as i know cheese is a little different than other foods.Sometimes it can be cut off since cheese is cured in moldy blocks. But once it gets hard, yeah you could just cut it off guess.

That depends on how long it had been sitting in my fridge! If it has been in there for a few weeks and had me amazed that it hasn't started to mold yet, I'll toss it. If I haven't had it too long and I notice a spot of mold, I'll cut it and keep going.

Usually before it gets any mold, the block is way too hard already. I love cheese so they run out fast. I have to throw away the jelly though...I am sure it is not good anymore.
