My daughter is 2 and a half years old... and i don't really know how many times i say i love her... because i would usually lose count... i think this is the right time for us parents to assure them of our love by verbally saying it... because when they grow older... they would be conscious and shy... whenever we say "i love you" to them...

I just have one 3-year old daughter and she is a very sweet kid. We tell her I love you everyday or at least 1-2 times a day. That is before bedtime and as soon as I arrive home from work. Whenever I hug her sometimes she's the first one to say I love you. Which is so sweet and of course I see to her "I love you too"

I tell my son (who is 5) probabaly a dozen times a day, he comes over to get a hug and i tell him, or he might just be be playing adn i will tell him, i have been blessed with a very affectionate loving child so as much as i tell him, he tells me, and vice versa. I am sure he will cut back on how he is towards me as he gets older, but right now i enjoy every minute i can with his hugs and kisses.

Honestly, I do not think they need that. What they need is your plenty of warm bear hugs. Not only this reassures the kids you are always there for them, teens are especially likely to confess things thay did during the hugging period. And the kids shall always hug you in return when they will see that you are their best friend who not only yells but jells with them as well.

I cannot even keep count- I tell my children I love them constantly. My 5 1/2 year old hears it all the time, and always tells us how much she loves up.
Her 4 month sister can't exactly express it the same way, but when you hold her, is wraps her arms around and gives a big hug and snuggle.
