I love salads. I like mixing lettuce, yellow and red bell peppers, cucumbers and carrot slices mixed up together in my salads. Then I top it with croutons, bacon bits and pineapple. Yes you heard me right, pineapples! I love that taste of the pineapples and the veggies covered with buttermilk ranch dressing. I know that the ranch dressing and the croutons and the bacon bits take away from the healthy aspect of the salad but it does taste good and it helps me get my veggie intake. Does anyone else love salads? How do you like to prepare yours, what are you favorite ingredients and do you add anything different to yours that other people might think is strange? Salad lovers tell all!

I love salads also. I have fun making them different to have the variety. I am not real crazy about pineapples but I am going to give it a try some day. I like onions, tomatoes, carrots, radishes, bacon bits, ham bits, peppers and of course cheese on my salad. Not all at once though. I also like to slice hard boiled eggs for my salad. I use different dressings. It just depends on what sounds good. We don't have to be healthy all the time.

I cannot get accustomed to radishes. I think they are too bitter. I love to put raisins in my salads as well. I would love to make a huge salad right now. All I have are lettuce and tomatoes (as far as veggies go) I think I will do just that!

I love chef salads and usually make them with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, chunks of ham, chunks of cheese, and croutons. It is so good!! I just made one last night too. I could just about live off the stuff in the summer. I've never tried pineapple in it and would probably save that for fruit salad.

I love chef salads too if I fix them at home. I find that restaurants just put too much lettuce and not enough everything else.

I have to day that I am a plain salad man. I prefer to just have the lettuce and the salad dressing. I can put up with a little bit of finely chopped tomatoe that is fine or a little bit of shredded carrots, but I don't like a lot of other stuff on my salad, I don't like red onions, or croutons. I actually do really like peperocini peppers on my salad, but I only really get that at Olive Garden, I also don't mind some freshly grated parmasan cheese, and freshly ground pepper, but I only get those at the Olive Garden too.

i liked everything but the pineapple. i hate pineapple. i like beets , onions, turkey on mine. my neighbor puts dill pickels in hers instead of cucumbers. it's pretty good. i had never seen anyone do that before. u always have dill pickles or i do but in the winter don't always have cukes. don't think that would probably be good w/pineapple. lol

Hmm.. Never thought of that. I have had cucumbers on the side but never actually in the salad itself. Now you have me thinking about that! Thanks AntiqueLady!

I dont have a recipe sadly, though I think if you just got a flour tortilla and then some beans and of course lettuce, grilled onions and pepper cooked with fajita seasoning, topped of with the meat of your choice, add some chips and dressing, a dob of guacamole and salsa... perfect!

Sounds delicious. We dont eat meat. I make salad everyday. I use 1/2 lettuce, 3 tbsp green+yellow+red bell peppers, 2tbsp carrots, 1 tbsp beetroots, 1 tbsp cilantro, 1 tbsp walnuts, 1 tbsp raisins, 1 tbsp cucumber (finely chopped), 1 green chillies, 1 onion (finely chopped), 1 tbsp green onion, 1 tomato finely chopped. I will mix everything well, with a pinch of salt and 2 tbsp of lemon juice and few sprays of olive oil. Since I make it every day, I use small quantity of all the veggies. never tried with pineapple, Will try it today

Now that sounds very good! I forgot about the tomatoes. I try to use the little grape or cherry tomatoes(not everyone likes them here). If there are no small tomatoes I will dice up tomatoes and keep them separate from the rest of the salad. I love cilantro! I have never tried a regular salad with green chilis. Enjoy the pineapple on yours!

FOR CHINESE, WE do not have eat habit to enjoy SALADS. SINCE the REFORM AND OPENing policy, chinese like to eat meat, fish, various seafood. Few of us enjoy lettuce, red bell pepper, cucumber and carrot etc vegetable. know we realize this dietary habit is incorrect. we should correct it to nutritious commponents of diet. Now, I also want to be salad lover like you!

I also love salads. But I usually create my own when I go to a salad bar, not really from home. But some things that I love to put in my salad is spinach, sweet corn, green peas. And instead of using grilled chicken I like to put cajun shrimp in my salad. I will also add chick peas, but that's only sometimes. Bits of bacon and shredded cheese. Omg it sounds so good I feel like having one this very moment. And to top it off. Ill either choose ranch dressing or a simple oil and vinegar mix.

I think salads are very healthy, I add hard boiled eggs to mine sliced, or pink salmon from a can or both the eggs and salmon, left over chicken is good with chopped nuts, sometimes blueberries and cheese. I make a taco salad by browning ground turkey in a pan adding taco mix, tear up pieces of taco shell and add it to a fresh salad with plenty of tomatoes.

Normally when I cook Mexican meals I always turn mine into a salad! I layer the corn chips, the meat and then just pile lettuce, cheese, pico de gallo and sour cream on top! It is so yummy!

I am fond of salads too, I usually eat cucumber as salad with onion, carrot, tomato almost daily. My wife cut them length wise puts little salt inside each and sprinkle red chili powder and black peeper powder, it tastes great and supplies not only water but also minerals
