Have you tried being locked inside a bathroom?

Two months ago, my bathroom's door broke and I wasn't able to get it fixed immediately. Early in the morning when I entered to have my bath before going to work, I accidentally push the door and it locked. I was so frightened I don't know what to do. I am alone at home and if I cannot open the door I would be locked there until somebody would finally find out and come to rescue me.
I felt lost and I panicked. After a few minutes when I recovered from shock I started looking for things to break the door but found nothing, only shampoo, soap, toothpaste and toilet paper.
Good thing the door is made of a thin plywood and the lowest part of the door which was always wet became brittle. When I held on to the plywood and pulled it as hard as I can, it broke and i was able to go out. I really sweated a lot as i thought of how I could go out from the bathroom.
Sometimes if I remember what happened, I still feel something I couldn't explain. What if the door was made of material that I wasn't able to break???

That is a scary thing, being locked in a bathroom without any help. I would be really pissed with myself for letting such a thing happen but sometimes, there is nothing one can do to prevent it. Cheers!!

It is an accident and things could be avoided when one is being careful. Thanks!!!

That is one of my fears as well what I think about sometimes is going to the public restroom and it at times there will be one stall with a lock on the main door so I will lock the main door, do my stuff, then go to leave and it will be stuck! How embarrassing lol

I remember I got locked in a 3 star hotel bathroom. The ting is my mom and aunt were just outside. The door just didn't want to open. I think I was about 6 years old. God thing the maintenance staff was ready and got me out at once. Of course I panicked, I was 6! LOL! And it was hot in the bathroom. I didn't really have a trauma because of that nor did I get claustrophobic. I just remember the incident.

I admire your guts. I have a little claustrophobia due to an incident that happened when I was a little girl. I and a cousin of mine went inside a small sewer and when we were to go out we couldn't even twist our body out. We were all sweaty and nervous when we finally got out. I shrink when I remember that incident.

As funny as it may sound, I haven't been locked in the bathroom but I've been locked in a car once, lol... One of my dad's old van had problem with driver's side door so when he gave me the van, I had to crawl in from passanger side all the time. One time it was raining really hard & I parked the van in my drive way & crawled over to the passanger side & just as I pulled the handle from the inside to open the door, it broke off. Back of the van was filled with junks & I spent close to an hour with my brother clearing stuff out of the van from the back in a soaking rain so I can crawl out the back.

I had that happen to me once except my door was solid wood. I finally thought about my tweezers & used those to push the pins out of the doors & took the door off it's hinges.I did ruin my tweezers though. It took me several hours to get that done. I know it's highly unlikely that it will ever happen again. In order to make sure it doesn't, I keep a second telephone in the bathroom. I use one of the new style phones that doesn't have to have a phone plug. You just need an electrical outlet. That way if I get trapped again, I can call for help!!! You just might want to consider that!!!

I was locked inside the comfort room of the hospital I've worked. I was in the night shift and we are three people on duty. The guard, the midwife and I. I know the door knob of the door is broke then sudenly, I push it really hard that when I attemp to opened it, I cant get the door opened. So, I'm calling my co-staff but she's busy and can't answer my call on her cellphone, I keep on shouting then our guard heard me and I guess he found out I was missing so, he looked for me and helped me to get out. I guess I was there for 15-20 minutes. I was perspiring but I'm glad I got out of that comfort room.

Nobody locked me because before I enter the CR I know where my co-staff are. It's just my stupidity that I know the door knob is broke then I push it hard that's why I locked my self in. Anyway, ghost?? I dont know, no ghost have been bothering me when I was still working there but some of my co-staff told me there is...

Yes, I have but not in a bathroom but some restaurant's toilet. The toilet was not in a good condition. The door knob was broken from the inside but there was a string attached to it to pull the door open from the inside. I had second thoughts about using the toilet but since I couldn't stand it anymore, I went in. After finishing my 'business', I pulled the string. To my horror, the door failed to open. I panicked and embarrassed to call for help at the same time. Luckily, I brought my handphone with me. So, I called my husband who was sitting at the table to come to my rescue.

I was locked at my best friend's bathroom because their doorknob just was stuck. I was calling out for about 15 minutes inside. Good Lord I think I was way too worried that i did not realize my mobile phone is with me so I called the home number and when her mother went for my rescue. Whew! Everyone just laughed at what happened. I was not the only one locked that day but anyhow her mom said, "We'll have someone fix that tomorrow but for now, let's put this no locking sign on the door..." tsk tsk tsk!

You are indeed quite strong. Lucky you could save yourself or else i think you mind stay inside the bathroom even longer. You stay alone? If so, that even different for people to find you or rescue you. If the door is made of material then i think you could to wait until people to rescue you. haha..

This happened to me in a small hotel. I accompanied my father for his regular check, since its in another city we checked in the hotel. It was a relatively new one...or rather we were in the new wing. I was in the bathroom, took my shower, unfortunately i forgot my hair conditioner. So when I opened the bathroom door...it was stucked! Howver much i tried, it was still stucked. The bathroom had no extension phone so i cant call my father..so I cant do anything else but to wait...and wait. My father who got tired of waiting got inside my room with the help of a roomboy and they heard my shouts... It was good that i was not claustrophobic, and that my father was there waiting in his room\, otherwise it would have been a disaster. The hotel management upgraded me and my father to their suite room without extra chrage.
