How strict are You? Working in a Restaurant,I'm used to dealing with dietary requirements that differ from the regular Menu. Some tonight went with our vegetarian option. We offer an optional appetiser in addition to Starter,Main course, and dessert that's part of our "Table D'hote" Menu. Tonight's was a mini Salmon Fishcake. The Chef asked me to check were those ordering Vegetarian "strictly" vegetarian,in case they didn't eat fish.I asked one Guy,who said He didn't eat fish, and I explained why I was asking..He was seated with a group of 8,so we sent out 7 appetisers,as He'd said He didn't eat fish..Minutes later, the appetisers having been served,I was walking past and scanning the table for anything that might be needed, and realised this guy was eating a fishcake! He'd taken one despite me checking beforehand and the girls mentioning what they were as they served them..so..If You eat vegetarian, are You committed to it,or do You see it as a Healthy alternative to an omnivorous diet?

Sounds like this guy is a little weak in his efforts, which happens, but im surprised he didn't just order the fish cake to begin with. I've recently made the switch from vegan to pescatarian for medical reasons. It would be nice to be able to get off fish, but in addition to it being really tasty and good for you, I'm still struggling with the whole "do fish feel pain" thing.

The only thing is,having accepted the appetiser that was intended for someone else once He'd passed on the idea when given the chance to order one for himself and refused,The person who should have got it was left hanging while we had to go back to the Chef and order another one!
